it's got a nice and slightly sweet finish. I like it. Im terrible at tasting notes so take that for what's is worth. Drinks way lower than 121. They had the rye sitting out as well.

Yea. The specs I want to at noonish had a few HHG2G and 4 EHTSmB. I got the G2G. Texted a buddy about the SmB and he took a flyer and came up. Got the last one , right behind him was a dude sprinting in the store and missed out. We had a laugh over text.
In North Carolina tagging along with my wife for a job interview, so figured I'd try something "local". This looked like the most intriguing thing on the NC shelf.

Thanks, interview went well, now we wait. We'd be in Chapel Hill, so not real close to either. But I was actually surprised by the selection at the ABC store we went to today after hearing how bad it would be.
The Big Winston was intriguing for two reasons. 1 - it's actually distilled and aged in house instead of sourced. 2 - it's unique mashbill of 6% rye, 8% malted barley, 86% corn.

The entire state is beautiful and Chapel Hill would definitely be a great place to live. I damn near took a job there before deciding to come back to Texas and certainly wouldn't rule out moving there in the future. There is also another poster here that is right down the road from you are well.

ABC liquor stores are ass but you have to focus on other things. Ocean to the East, mountains to the West. Only other state I would retire in.

Asheville is amazing. Went there for an anniversary trip with my wife.
Hiking the trails in the morning, hit the breweries in the afternoon and enjoy the nightlife. Cool music scene too.

Not bourbon-related…. but I envy y'all that live in HEB country. We did some blinds of named brand vs HEB brand of different foods and HEB won 6 of 7. Brookshire's and Walmart don't even come close. The couple of times a year I can get HEB, I stock up! Okay, back to bourbon.

Been on this earth a long time. Lived in slot of places. I've always found a butcher for my steaks.
HEB Prime 1 is the best, most consistent I've had. When we moved back to Texas, I found a butcher, but stopped using him for steaks in 2010.
Their seafood is top notch as well.
