I'm drinking Pursuit United Oak Collection Bourbon. It's so dang good, and only 1/3 Kentucky. At least every time I've refilled while cooking, good things have happened.

Yes I do. I will say, I'm a brand ambassador for them, but I wouldn't be if the whiskey wasn't good.

Of their standard lineup, the bourbon is good, but the rye is great, and changes minds of non-rye drinkers all the time.

Of the oak collection, the bourbon is awesome. The rye is good, but I really really enjoy the last couple batches of the bourbon.

They also have a double Oaked that just came out with batch 2 and has been seriously turning heads. Their intent was to make a bourbon that was the heavy butterscotch and dusty funk like the dusty bourbons they loved so much. They definitely succeeded. It's typically only distillery release, but does show up on seelbach's from time to time, which is how I got one.

Everything they release is 108 proof and typically drinks easier, but with the 100+ amount of flavor. Such a sweet spot for me for typical drinking when I'm not wanting to dig into the high proof.

Yep, everything they release has been dang good.

I'd complain about the folks who were drinking Kentucky spirits but i was drinking whiskey from Oregon all during the Supers, and again tonight.

Once you get passed the whole proof thing, sometimes the high proof stuff is more candy like….

This...I stopped by Oak Liquor Cabinet when I was in the area a couple of weeks back. He hooked me up with some good stuff. Great selection for a small store.

A lot of the dfw spec's carry them, a few independent stores, and the main Dallas total wine carries the oak collection. If you are looking in a specific area, I can find out and point you in the right direction.

I'll be in Austin at the end of the month. Will definitely hit up Oak Liquor cabinet and give him some business. I met the owner last time and he was very nice. Does he have any good store picks at the moment?

I like ours better than ADLS. Might just be that the pick team here is more aligned with my palate

Raju always has good store picks. Whenever I come in for a barrel pick or release i always walk away with a few other bottles. Love the OLC!

Yes sir. TexAgs gives him plenty of business with all the picks haha I think our crowdfunding strategy will lead to better picks as time goes on.

He has 1792 FP store pick that's always great. The smoke wagon rye pick is great too. Cases of Henry McKenna 10 and Larceny BP sitting on the floor. I haven't been in a few weeks but there is always something good available.

My neighborhood Spec's has the Pursuit United Rye for $69.50. Is that a reasonable price?

As a rule, Specs *cash price* is generally right at MSRP. They definitely have their flaws, but they don't do huge markups on pricing.

In this case they are a bit over, but still reasonable, if it's the black label standard rye. Msrp on that would be $65 and can be found closer to $60 from time to time. If it's more of a blue/gray label, that's the oak collection rye finished in sherry French revere oak, and a good price.
