My daughter gave me a nice decanter that was engraved with a letter she wrote and read to me at her wedding. I'm keeping track of what I'm putting into it and passing it on to her one day.

It's fantastic and worth the price. Especially if you're in Louisville at Neat. Take that bottle back to the hotel, sit out on the patio and enjoy. You'd spend that much on a round of drinks with the friends anyways.
So what does everyone do with their decanters other than infinity bottles?

With decanters, you have to think about oxidation due to air exposure. it may only be a small degree but it does matter to some people.
Putting in a daily drinker means you would use it more often. Just food for thought.

I agree. besides if you use it for a special occasion bourbon you get much less internet cred without the bottle and the label.

Here's a cool bottle I picked up last month at the distillery after our tour and tasting…took a bit of BSing with them but eventually talked them into selling our group a case. Banana heavy on the nose and pallet when first opened then after a month it turned to major oak, great bottle.

We had the tour and tasting lined up, which included 4 samples, regular, the Sonoma, batch proof and the baccarat but at barrel proof (110) not the 90 proof that they sell it at, they said all were available to our group in the gift shop for purchase bc we did the tour and tasting, normally it's just the normal basics offerings available in the gift shop. So I asked about the double double oak and they just smiled and said probably not…kept bringing it up then they agreed to sell us a case. They said they had 3 cases left before we bought one. Who knows what's true.

Good. I'm really enjoying it. Getting lots of cherry and cocoa powder to go along with the typical Garrison Brothers oakiness. I also get some of the graham cracker/pie crust notes that I've tasted in the Guadalupe.
Overall, I dig it
Also it was a Kentucky only release, I heard a few stores had it but doubt it's still out there.

I did a tasting of the double double.
They said it goes FAST once released. We went in February. They also laughed at anything "allocated" for purchase.

I was super hesitant about the cost of Cowboy until I was gifted a sample and immediately got a bottle.
A store near me has it and the owner keeps trying to get me to pull the trigger. I definitely want it, but that price is steep lol.
I'm not a fan of the regular GB single barrel or small batch. Is the overall profile similar to those? If not, I may bite.

It's different. GB at higher ages and proofs loses some of the funk or harsh oak notes. The cowboy is a more complex pour with a ton of flavors and generally drinks under its proof imo.
