I know this is a bourbon forum. But anyone have a good scotch recommendation? A gift for someone who just had a kid. I would do bourbon, but there's nothing I can find that I want.

Ya, but I like this group, and trust the taste of bourbon drinkers that dabble in scotch as well

Do you want scotch that tastes like:
A - the bottom of Colville's foot after he got peat from the bog?
B - something that reminds you that you could be drinking bourbon instead?

I'm in for answers to A or B. specifically, if it's not peated I would still like a heavier flavor.

Frey Ranch shipment just arrived.

They don't distribute to Colorado but they do ship here.

What all did you get from them? They might be my favorite thing going right now.

Their standard bourbon and the uncut farm strength.

I set an alarm and had been looking forward to trying to get their 100% wheat whiskey last Friday, but missed the drop because I got caught talking to a coworker. I was so upset lol.

That would be pretty cool to taste.

It's supposed to have very heavy cream cheese notes, which sounds great to me!

Random Total Wine haul today. Saw they were down to the last bottle of Westward Cask Strength and had to grab that. Note - TW for whatever reason does gives you 7x points for that bottle, talk about a win-win.

As i was walking around the store i decided it was time to try a couple of Indian Single Malts and grabbed a bottle of the Paul John Nirvana and the 50ml Amrut.




For a $28 bottle the Pual John is surprisingly decent. It is very light and you can definitely tell its young but there is some potential. I don't know if ill buy another bottle but i would definitely buy something from them with a bit of age on it.

This is me. My family all loves peat. I truly can't taste anything but a burning fire.

Found their standard release Bourbon at a store north of Dallas. I need to plan another trip to the area just to grab another.
