Timing can vary wildly. Some distilleries don't even bottle your pick for a few months after it's selected, all depends on the model and distribution timing

Question for the group about the barrel picks. I live in a small east Texas town, so picking up a bottle is more complicated for me than for those that live in one of the select cities. When the bottles are ready for pickup, is there a date range that I'd be able to go pick up the bottle? Just curious how that works.

You just need to make arrangements with one of the mules or arrange with someone else to get your bottle and ship it.

yeah, not sure where in east Texas, but I would arrange with the Dallas or Houston mule. If you travel to CS often you could arrange with that mule and pick up in CS when you are in town.

I have shipped to east texas before. You just need to grab a bottle next time and select houston and then double check with me that I'm ok to ship it to you

You can also always come to the release parties but that might be more costly (shipping vs gas), but it is loads of fun!

My guess is so the "sunset" and Texas can sit in the middle of the plant that would look not good if completely symmetrical.

If you need to ship a bottle take it to Office Depot. I could have told the person working the counter there i was sending lithium batteries and some coke and couldn't have cared less. At least people at the Fedex store pretends to care and ask questions when they inevitably hear the liquid sloshing around inside.
