Lanolin tends to have a natural smell, which many compare to the smell of sheep or almost metallic-y, but sweet, grassy and perhaps a little sour.
This is up there with the "guitar fingers" note."

Wow really? I have heard nothing but outstanding things about JD12. Been on the lookout but haven't seen anything. On my list of pickups. What was it about it that you didn't like?
I heard last year, batch 1 was incredible, but this year, batch 2 is wanting.

Batch 1 was amazing. I killed my bottle pretty fast. Batch 2 is really good too. Not worth more than MSRP, IMO.

yes, same as Rio. It's a Brazilian wood. Typically you get strong cinnamon notes.

Cinnamon for sure, and the two I've tried, RD last weekend at spec's and Angel's Envy Rye, were both very sweet. Which I like, but I know not everyone does.

Nice! The wife surprised me with a bottle of JD12 this morning, gonna crack it open when I get home from work today. Also gonna do a blind with the JD10, picked that up last month at Jack.
