JD twice barrel is amazing
Would love to try the rye. The only twice barreled JD I have had was the ASM and it was terrible. As someone who loves JD products I was sorely disappointed.

Picked up a couple bottles at my local place today.
First time ever seeing BT in the wild and it was a store pick. Got a sample and it was pretty dang good.

Decided on the new riff just because I keep hearing great things about it.
I hate the look of the bottle though.

I generally like New Riff, but they're especially inconsistent barrel to barrel. Some are very good, and others just so so. Just in case it isn't great, that may be part of why.
Get their 8 year. It's stellar. Me and a buddy almost killed a whole bottle Friday night. I have 2 more in the bunker

Remedy was my secret spot, thanks for giving it away guys lol! The store manager is a really good guy. The prices are pretty good and even he calls BS on the price of some of the allocated bottles they have. Stop in and have a look if you all get a chance.

Where is this barrel?
Char is worthless after the fact. I have a lot of staves and have a plan to make something but the sad fact is, tapered, curved and concaved makes cutting losses very high.
