I make jokes at it. I actually won a birthday bourbon last year so I shouldn't complain.

I've switched most of my shop to specs since they don't start over every year. Maybe in 100 years I'll teach ryeguy status level! No shade - just jealous.

I have to sell my Augusta National Women's Amateur tickets. Championship Round on April 6th.

How many 12s is this worth?

I haven't had the American Whiskey or the Sour Mash yet. Just haven't wanted to pull the trigger and add yet another bottle to the shelf. Figure I'll try it someday first.

American whiskey is gonna be one of my first purchases after my move.

I really enjoy the sour mash, but I've heard the American is the better pour.

It really varies between pallete. Personally the American is my least favorite of the standard lineup, and it's not really close. I rotate between the bourbon, rye, and sour mash, depending on the day and or batch/bottle, with the bourbon winning a lot lately. But when doing events I have a ton of people who really love the American and choose it every time.

Technically the American is the same thing as the Bourbon until it goes into the barrel. The differentiator is that the bourbon uses new barrels and the American uses used barrels, so it can't be called bourbon. The difference is surprisingly big, though a bit more proof on the bourbon likely helps show the difference a bit as well.

Oh yeah? I bet y'all are getting something good. Their new barrel pick program definitely looks interesting. Especially considering how dang good their latest oak collection finished bourbon and rye is. Next time I make it to Louisville I'm definitely stopping by to do their barrel pick/bottle your own experience.

First time we had a unanimous choice. I was just helping our rep guide the group that was picking but the sip I had was lovely.

For the Michters talk, 2018 Toasted Rye is on my mount Rushmore. Despite the bourbon version winning WWOTY in 2019, the 2018 rye is in a diff league...and Im not a rye guy. I think in Texas, Michters is a brand that still flies under the radar. Their 55 dollar American is better than 50%+ of the whiskey out there and at much higher prices.

I'd been looking forward to the new Michter's toasted rye probably more than anything else last year and am already ISO a backup for my opened one since it's only released every few years. Great stuff.

I 100% would if I could. Would be a Michter's first and we could all probably make more on our bottles than they'd be worth to drink.

For now I'm just trying to make connections so we can get them elsewhere.

Now, Pursuit United is definitely doable, but they're not as well known or drank as much as they should be, so we'll wait on that one for older stuff.

pursuit makes good stuff, I'd be super interested in something with them.

If ur ever in Houston on a weekday hit me up. I can let u try any of the Michters you want thats opened. Usually M10B, M10R, MTBB, MTBSM, MBSB, MBSR etc. Hell, i can even open up other. Just clinging to my 2018 stuff like it matters.

It's state run. Check out their website. It will tell you where everything is. Most of the good stuff goes to their lottery that they run like once a year.
