I've come to realize I really like bourbons with notes of cherry. Can anyone recommend any bottles? Preferably bottles I can always find. I'm not in a bigger city so I don't have access to store picks and allocated bottles like you guys have in Houston/Dallas/Austin. OF 1920 is my go to for strong notes of cherry.

FYI, I mentioned my girlfriend and previous posts…Well, she's now my fiance'. I got engaged Friday night!! We were going to go see Dave Chappelle on Saturday night for our two year anniversary which was on the 2nd so I wanted to get the weekend started right!

Edit: It's bourbon related because I bought several bottles while I was in town.

(Also, to poster above, I love Eagle Rare's cherry note which I always taste)

Buddy out of Houston got this for me last year and decided to crack it. Who ever was bottling at the GB ranch decided to write Go Aggies on the back.

Because shelf price is closest to secondary most of the time on that app.

My FIL and I broke out the farmers almanac to prove the spring was actually drier than the fall when my wife and MIL initially wanted the fall. We ended up with perfect weather in the hill country in early April, and a clear fall schedule for football and hunting.

Maker's Mark typically has a decent cherry on it IIRC. Some MGP do as well. Wheated bourbons tend towards cherry/ stone fruit on the palate imo.

Eagle Rare, Stagg, EHT SiB, and Weller would be in his wheelhouse. Sounds like he would love Buffalo Trace products.


I second the OF 1920. I would also recommend the Rebecca Creek Double Barrel for a cherry citrus blast or the Spanish Oak for thick syrupy praline and luxardo

Got one from a buddy yesterday, said he found it at a TL in Houston area. Other than that I heard of one in Dallas, but I don't think it's hit widely in Texas yet
