Wasn't someone saying that if you get Eagle rare in this that it could be higher proof? Or is that a different private barrel?
Anyone in the Houston area going to check this out? I went to some whiskey tasting event with Josh Abbot at Silver Studios a while back and it was pretty terrible. This one looks like it has a slightly better selection to choose from.

Unfortunately no. You pick from 4 samples that have been proofed down. We did get to try a taste straight from the barrel that we picked.

As example, Wild Turkey, Wild Turkey 101, and Rare breed are all the same juice but at different proofs…the costs are reflected in the proof as they all have similar plain bottles. Now, Blanton's higher cost then full proof would reflect a different reason…No? Maybe it is tater demand? But I can't imagine the toppers and bottle cost same as plain Stagg Jr. bottles and cork.
The total price accounts for that but the price per 750ml of Blanton's is the same as EHT Single Barrel according to the estimate sheet, both at 60 dollars.

I was at a conference with some people from work earlier this week, and we went to a bar in downtown San Antonio. He came back over with about a 1 oz pour really excited to be trying Weller Special Reserve. He then told me he paid $27 for that ounce. I'm glad he got to try something new, but sad how much he paid.

I did, and i subsequently heard him cuss for the first time.
The real travesty of the situation was the totally comped dinner right before. They had made a bunch of margaritas before, so after a couple, I was through.
One of the hostesses said they had whiskey, so I ordered an Old Fashion, her response "Eagle Rare is our well, is that ok?" I just said yes instead of asking what else they had. On the way out, I saw George T and Pappy on the shelf.
