Agreed. I got a bottle of WJ as a gift and was very suspect - but it's a pretty solid pour.
My initial thought was that it tastes like a wild Turkey product. But I poured some Russell reserve 10 year next to it and I don't think so anymore.

Total Wine apparently has bought 1 barrel for each of their stores from 1792 and bottled it at barrel proof. They have the barrel on display and you can remove the plug and smell the inside of the barrel, and then all the bottles from that actual barrel for sale. I picked a bottle up for $39.99, 125 proof.
Solid price. Think the pick I have from San Antonio was 42

Imo a lot of people lost sight of what they were paying extra for the decanter. Was it a $110 bourbon? No. Was it $110 dollar bourbon and decanter ? Probably.
