My wonderful wife went to Costco today and they had Weller Antique 107 and picked it up. Apparently when she goes to Costco she goes by the liquor store.

She got the last one, but maybe other Costco's have them.

I love that lady!!

About 100-110 per. It's the first whiskey distilled and aged exclusively at the distillery in downtown Louisville.

The best base for the most cocktails as a general rule. The higher-rye mash bill and the higher proof creates a citrusy flavor that holds up well. Great value bottle.

A staple in the cabinet. Great pour on its own and as BlockerResident said it elevates bourbon cocktails. A steal for the price.

The Single Barrel offering is becoming easier to find. I've had two different bottles of that and it levels up the original. A definite buy if you see those for $50.

I think most people are a fan. It's just okay to me. I would blind it with other bottles several times and usually it finished near the bottom. But it's still not a bad bottle for the price.

George's downtown/Modern uptown(same owners, good people and prices)

Byron's in uptown (huge selection, if they have it, it's MSRP, allocateds don't last long)

The Well up on memorial (decent selection, pretty good prices, regularly move allocateds)

100% agree. Save the basic OGD 114 value for cocktails, try the new SiB for sipping and if it's not your jam move on up to the KC SiBs, and then the new OGD BiB ain't anything special IMO too.

Buddy of mine won a Buffalo Trace barrel through the SBS drawing today. He's in Austin. Logistically, what's the best way to go about this? Would a retailer sign on to buy the barrel without being part of the tasting/selection process? We'd be in for a few cases each but probably don't want the whole barrel ourselves.

Depends on what barrel, and Oak liquor cabinet has done a lot for the Texags barrel selections. He can possibly help navigate.

For the help, I would like to purchase a bottle at cost.

Specs will do it too. I won one a few years ago and specs facilitated it. You get points too for the vault!

I know my buddy who just went through this went with a local liquor store and they asked for x% of bottles in exchange for helping coordinate. I wouldn't imagine specs doing this without getting to sell some it.
