Sadly, no. Nobody was moving in the short time that I was watching the line. They probably let people in in groups so I I'm guessing.
just got back from Austin store. Was a short line when I got there but by the time I left, zero line but not much choice left. Tons of Blanton's Gold SP, some regular and minis. ER10. Picked up a penelope project X to try.
Some pricey bottles still around like cowboy, willet purple that no one wanted at that price.

They still had a tooooon of stuff.
Made out with a MM Cellar Aged, Hardins Creek, Blantons gold pick, OWA store pick, regular Weller 12 and Full Proof, and a couple other store picks.
Had a good time and was pleased with what was available. Plenty of good things left on the "pick one" table.

How bad was the line when you left?
I got in line about 20 minutes after you. I only picked up five bottles, but when I got to the "pick one from the table" at the end, they announced no limits on everything. Guy in front of me grabbed a case of six Blanton's gold and two or three from the "pick one" table.
The line still wrapped around the side from the front of the building, but I don't know how far it stretched.

Just drove by. It's half way down the side on smith. I didn't have time to run in.
That would have been awesome but I probably would have made some poor decisions! I was pretty maxed as it was.

I walked up at about 2:45 in Houston, stood in line for like 45 minutes and managed to get everything I wanted. Came away with a K. Luke 10.5 single barrel, Pursuit Double Oaked and Knob Creek Cask Stength. Bought a bottle of wine for the wife as well, and passed on a whole bunch of stuff.
Granted I'm not as much of a tater chaser as some.

Dumb question. Anybody ever gone the next day after a drop finding decent stuff. Like maybe they got busy and forgot to put some good cases out?
Oh they will 100% have stuff tomorrow. The might be out of some of the more niche/craft stuff, but will absolutely have more of the big boy stuff like Knob Creek, Old Grandad, and probably some Four Roses Etc.
Last year I went in the day after and grabbed a Knob Creek 18 and Angel's Envy cask strength. They had a ton of their "normal" store picks as well.
Hmmm, yall were supposed to say NO so I didn't have to go there to spend more money on bourbon.

I was there the same time you were. Also grabbed the Penelope to try, the Blanton's Gold and a Four Roses.
If anyone grabbed an extra pursuit double oak, I'm very interested. I went by Irving at 130 and line was at least 150 people long

Agreed. I passed on a bunch. I was planning to grab the Woodford double oak pick but it was over $100…I know it's a barrel pick, but I was surprised to see it was about 2x the price of normal Woodford double oak.Tksymm7 said:

Right there with you but that still is a good price for the other ones I have seen in stores ($3,999 - $5,999).

Is everything at these big sale days out there for regular MSRP or are they marked up close to secondary?
Depends on what you are looking for. It's certainly getting much easier to get things like eagle rare, eh Taylor small batch, stagg at msrp but the higher end stuff you'll still find marked up at most mom and pop type shops
I'm thinking about running over right at 10 to Smith if work is slow. Yall think there will be anything worth the trip?
Sorry, I meant at specs for these big sale days. Just curious if those bottles like the double ER or Weller FP type bottles are above MSRP
