Split a Regal Rye tonight with a friend who is also a fellow heart patient but who I rarely get to see these days. Sports day sucked but any day I can share a good beer with a good friend is ok in my book.

Bourbon is a different game. The only way to get any of the PVW or BTAC bottles is to spend $Texas at a store with good allocations throughout the year. I've decided it's cheaper to pay $50+ for a pour when I'm in the mood instead.

Its not even about acquiring the bottles. I straight up dont like bourbon neat apparently.

I wouldn't write it off based on not liking PVW 23. I've never had the 23, but I've had the 20 several times and can honestly say I don't like it. Old bourbons shouldn't be bottled at 90 Proof IMO. You need some heat that comes from a higher proof to cut through all of that oak.

Also, there is nothing wrong with adding ice.

Jaunted over to Jester King from College Station today and got to enjoy the best weather I've ever had there. Lots of solid bottles still available-- picked up 1ea. of La Vie en Rose, Detritivore, SPON Sang/Mouv, and Aurelian Lure.

Also had Fen Tao (first time for me) on tap outside, and until my friend kicked the keg they were pouring a tasty Jolly Pumpkin/Maui Brewing collab with cherry and passionfruit. Everyone at our table ended up ordering one. Wonder if there are bottles anywhere..

I might need a lot of these tonight.

Sobrehumano? Maui did can their version but it's been several years since I have seen it on shelves.

A very solid beer. Pretty light on the barrel flavor, but nicely balanced peach.

I was pleasantly surprised when going down the beer aisle in my local grocery store to find a 4 pack of Backwoods ******* just sitting there. It was just waiting there, patiently. Until I saw it and snatched it up. I mean who leaves a beer like that sitting near the coors light and shiner?

Never mind. We just got it in this morning. Just saw it on the twitter

Probably not particularly exciting on this thread but the next Shiner Brewer's Pride is the Dunkelweizen. When I first started expanding my beer selections from Shiner Bock years back that was one that I drank and liked. Of course I also liked their Klsch back then and I hated it when they re-released it so we'll see how this goes.

What are they charging?
