Finally have a minute of down time to recap my beer adventures after visiting NCol at WeldWerks two weeks ago. Sorry for the length in advance.
In Ft. Collins, we hit up New Belgium, Odell, Zwei, and Jessup Farm Barrel House. New Belgium was cool and I really enjoyed the uniqueness of Jessup. They brew at Funkwerks and then transport everything to their barrel house/taproom. They had your standard barrel aged stouts/sours, but also some gin and tequila barrel beers that were solid.
We headed down to Denver on Sunday and made stops at Odd13, Cerebral, and Our Mutual Friend. Cerebral was the standout with awesome IPAs, sours and an outstanding stout that we unfortunately missed crowlers of. Cerebral served their flights in beakers, so we were drinking for #science.
Monday night, the reason for our trip, we headed to Red Rocks for Sturgill Simpson. Amazing show and atmosphere. Had beers before the show at Falling Rock, Pliny and Casey Blackberry Fruit Stand were a good start to the night.
On Tuesday, I flew to Boston to meet my wife. We were celebrating her grandmother's 95th birthday and turned it into an extended beer trip. We made brewery trips to Night Shift, Mystic, Trillium before taking in the Astros/Red Sox at Fenway (hopefully the Stros keep it going today).
We also took a few drives to the new Tree House facility and up to Portland. Tree House was nuts, but the line moved efficiently and we got our case to go. We hit up Bissell Brothers and Foundation in Maine and my wife also snuck in a trip to Allagash and Battery Steele while I was still in Colorado.
Finally made it home after 10 days of drinking and realizing and I can't and shouldn't drink like I used to. We checked three bags and a box of beer and still had to ship one box home. It finally got here yesterday and all beer made it safely. Final haul -
Tl;dr - lots of good beer in Colorado/New England
