8th Wonder Haterade. This is really effing good. I love this beer. I like it more than Real Ale's Gose. And I love the **** out of that beer. If only 8th Wonder canned this.

Not as good as it is fresh but still pretty decent nonetheless.

I like this beer by JK.

Not sure what fireweed brings to the beer but there is a nice lemmony citrus coming through.

Plus a creekstone farms prime brisket. Turned out pretty good. We had to hold it 2 hours while we drank but it was still 8/10

Cheap beer PSA:

Kroger on 99 and Morton Ranch has about 30 bombers in their "clearance" rack.

They are $5.99 each and I saw these:

Karbach - G.G. Miss Molly
Karbach - Roll in the hay
St. Arnold's - endeavor
Texian double IPA
Infamous - pumpkin massacre

A wedding in Yountville brought my wife and I to the NorCal area this past weekend. A trip to the wine country was a much easier sell to me knowing that in the back of my mind there were great beer options too.

Landed in Oakland and ate at a place near Rare Barrel. It wasn't open for the day yet, but had to swing by and check it out from the outside.

Made the trek up Hwy101 to Petaluma and stopped in at Heineken/Lagunitas. They have a really cool setup and a good stable of all solid beers as most know. Not even knowing Lagunitas made a sour, I was really surprised with their Farmhouse Sour w/Black Currants, just really good,

We continued up 101 and stopped in at BeerCraft. They had a really local but good taplist. The workers took a bit to warm up to, but any place with ExciteBike in the back room is a plus in my book.

Our first night was spent in Santa Rosa and was able to make it by the mother land. This was a Thrusday night and the crowds didn't seem too bad. By the time I bought some to-go beers we were seated at a table right behind the bar. Pretty good pizza and great beer. Surprise surprise.

On our way over to Napa from Santa Rosa I was sitting at a red light and noticed a small, unassuming bottle shop just off the road. I poked my head in and couldn't believe the selection they had. The worker was saying that the connections they make during the RateBeer festival allows them to have the great selection.

The one last beer related stop was at Fieldwork Brewing. This place was located in a big open air market place within Napa. As you can see on their website, they make an absolute ton of beers and everything I had was quite a bit above average. Really good stuff. At the time they didn't have any of their most sought after beer, Pulp (NE IPA), available.

On the way back to Oakland we swung through San Francisco real quick and hit some of the touristy things. We were actually 2 blocks from Cellarmaker, but it was before their opening time...

Good trip.
Good times.
Good beer

I'd be willing to buy the GGMM for that price. At full price they are shelf turds at my Kroger. The FUN stuff used to fly off the shelf; maybe going to the dark side is hurting sales for Karbach.

Was it Rincon Valley Tap Room and Bottle Shop?

If so, that place has an awesome selection. I happened to stop in there on our last trip out and found Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze hanging out on shelf among a ton of other good stuff.

Ggmm is definitely worth $6. My comment was in reference to the roll in the hay. I'm not sure I would drink one if you gave me $6. Pretty terrible, imo

That's what I said. Weird that it was there, but not 250mi away in DFW. The worker mentioned the RateBeer festival as the reason they had it stocked.

TXAg2008 got in my head the other day, so I had to make a quick run. Didn't have time to hit all the cool places he did, but got the one that matters most to me.

Flew this time, so only grabbed 2 Pliny and 1 Blind Pig.

Hah, sorry this had me laughing a bit. Not only did you swing by (a closed business), but you took a pic, and you posted it.

Made it back from the weekend in North Carolina this morning. Stops in Asheville included Wicked Weed, The Funkatorium, Green Man, Asheville Brewing and dinner at Buxton BBQ. Then in Charlotte we stopped in at NoDa Brewing. It was a great trip for beer and a beautiful part of the country that neither my wife or I had been to.

Hanging out in Rome right now with the wife and hit up Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fa, which a pretty incredible beer bar. Pictures won't upload yet, but they had Cantillon Grand Cru Bruocsella on tap tonight. First time to try Cantillon and it did not disappoint. I'll upload some images of the place once the Internet is better.
For those of you that have tried some Cantillon before, they have a pretty extensive bottle list of them, and wanted to see what your favorites are so I can pick the best ones.

Here's the list:
Gueuze, Kriek, Rose de Gamrinus, Fou Foune, Lou Pepe Framboise, Vigneronne, St Lamvinus, Cuvee St Gilloise, 2010 Mamouche.

They also have 3 Fonteinen Golden Blend and Doesjel too.

Anyways, for those of you that have had multiple Cantillons, what would you suggest off that list? I think I can knock about 3 out at least while I'm here.
