Yeh wife and I got a tour from him like the first month or so they opened. There was no one else there, so he showed us around! We talked quite a bit, then I subsequently met him several times at some beer events at Rockwells, then again at GABF the next year after we moved to Denver. Them my uncle gave me a wheat beer book (for homebrewing reference), and I turn it over and see none other than a twenty something Eric Warner.. I was like hah I know that guy!

He's very accomplished. And I was a big fan of Flying dog in late 2000s, coincidentally while he was there. Their mix pack was my go-to.

I ride with Karbach for the MS150 every year. We have private, no line beer inside the tent, but they give out free beer to other riders outside. Eric is out there pouring beers for the masses every year. He hangs out, serves food, chats, etc. 99.9% of people that roll up to grab free beer have no idea they are being served by the same guy who brewed their beer.

He's not. He's my BIL and good dude. He joined the beer thread with the March Madness Bracket Challenge. He sent a pretty good box with lots of good Austin beers when he lost.

In September 2011, Frederique left the restaurant to found Abu Nawas Beverage Co., a specialty beer wholesaler dedicated to bringing some of the finest craft beers in the world to Iowa. However, you may still find him once in a while enjoying a drink at the restaurant and willing to talk about our story and journey to Elkader.

Eric is still the Brewmaster/President (his self-appointed title would be "Yeast Rancher"), but the Head Brewer I was referring to who gave me the sample of 5th Anniversary is Chris Juergen, a Texas Aggie dairy science grad and UC-Davis Aggie brewing masters grad. He heads up the actual brewing from day-to-day.
