Honestly... everything I've had from NBBCO tastes like pickle. Stumbled upon their anniversary party a while back and everything I tasted had a very "pickly" aftertaste. My brother had some barrel aged sour stout that was straight vile.

To me, NBBCO is that brewery trying to latch on the next big thing in beer. "Oh, crap... people like sours. Let's just pump out a bunch of mediocre to bad sours.". They almost remind me of Texas Big Beer in a way...

They also have a Hell Below strong black ale that you're supposed to mix with it. Both beers are very good separately and together.

I got a really good deal on it for Assassin + 3 lesser bottles. Going to flip immediately since I've already had it. Too good of a deal to pass up.

Those Martin House toadies beers are pretty great on their or mixed.

I mean no pappy dark lord but pretty tasty to us gentry.

Me and IrishAggie tonight had some Braindead Fill In the Blancs, Lakewood Lions Share 4, and JK Bufords Roadside Wares.

The newest Lions Share from Lakewood is really really nice. Very boozy and sweet. It should age really nicely over the next year or two as it mellows a bit. The JK Bufords was drinking perfectly right now. Just the right amount of tart with a little bit of mellow nuttiness from the pecans and oak aging. Really nicely done by them as usual.

That 2011 Pappy Dark Lord sounds insane. I haven't seen many trades where something demands an SR-71 with a plus, so it's value must be pretty sky high.

I'm brewing an Oktoberfest this weeekend. My first attempt at the style. Hopefully it turns out good!

Our local place, Smitty K's, expects Karbachtoberfest to be on tap in the next week or two. Early, but I love me some marzens.

FYI, you can find any of the Martin House beers in the target of 7th in FW. The stars above is tasty but a very light sour.

They have shirts for sure. I didn't see any glasses, but I also didn't really look. The glass I drank of was a SanTan glass, so they may not have branded glassware. If they etched that poster on a glass I'd buy one.

oktoberfest festivals are only 5-6 weeks away. Not too early really.

Hell it was a high of 72 in the 303 yesterday. Plenty of days in August appropriate for the style!
