You got any more Encendia? Or does anyone for that matter have some?

It's about 2 years old with a low bottle count... I doubt it. This was the only bottle I had left.

I might still have one. I can't remember if I drank it or not. Let me look...

Good one from an IP trade with Hudson.

Nice meeting you although it was brief, and thanks for the extras. I owe you some more stuff the next time I'm up that way.

Wasn't kilt lifter part of one of the first big cease and desist cases in beer marketing?
from who and to who?

Pikes on Seattle has a Scottish ale called kilt lifter.
Found it

quote:
Moylan's has been involved in other trademark battles, too. Moylan says he was the first brewery to name a beer Kilt Lifter. However, he didn't trademark the two words. Over the years, other craft breweries put the same name on their own beers often dark and malty Scotch-style ales. Moylan, who says he isn't a "trademarkey kind of guy," wasn't concerned.
Then, as Moylan tells it, a brewing company in Arizona called Four Peaks not only adopted the name but applied for a trademark on it. Foreseeing legal troubles, Moylan voluntarily took the name off bottles of his beer that were shipped to states where Four Peaks beers are sold. Four Peaks representatives could not be reached for comment.
Moylan says the owners of Four Peaks recently visited his brewpub with a peace offering: a Four Peaks T-shirt and some beer. Moylan drank the beer and has even worn the shirt. It might not have been the happiest ending for his Kilt Lifter, but it wasn't a, um, bitter end.

Strange.. Pike's still makes their kilt lifter.

According to their website, the midtown Specs has this in stock now. I may swing by later in the week and grab some.

And in other news, I won a homebrew competition back in November called Operation Bravo and got to brew my winning recipe with Shannon Brewing in Keller. The beer will be on draft in the taproom Saturday March 12 and Saturday March 19 for any of y'all interested. The beer was originally a robust porter recipe called Rio Bravo Porter that I brew to watch Aggie football every fall, but we beefed it up a little bit to make it a Breakfast Stout. If y'all are in the area one of those Saturdays, check it out!

Divine reserve 16 came out today. Not as much fanfare this time around, it seems, but I'm pretty interested in this style.

That new Oskar Blues brewery in Austin is gonna need to set up a hammock for me... Cause I plan on spending a lot of time there. Or at the very least a spot on the floor where I can pass out...

I don't know what distributor he works for, but a rep restocking at HEB Hollemann said they would be bringing Brash Brewing to B/CS bars soon.

Denver questions. Mulling a quick trip at the end of the month.

If we stay in downtown, what part? Is it easiest to rent a car, or will we be paying out the ass in parking fees? Would it be easier to just uber/cab? Best breweries? What else?

I've only flown in to denver and then driven directly up into the mountains.
