I'm as excited as a 13 year old girl with one direction tickets in 2012, I'm finally gonna be popping my russian river cherry. mom is on vacation in cali with some friends, hitting up wineries and whatnot. she called me Thursday asking about breweries out there, looking to visit one nearby. turns out russian river was quite convenient.

she asked if I wanted her to grab a beer for me so of course I asked for a Pliny. got a text last night saying they had a blast, and I better have cash handy because she's brining me back a bottle of damnation, a sudwerk cascaderade (she knows I love cascade and thought this was one of theirs because of the name, but I'm pumped to try it regardless), and when pliny is available come Monday shes getting a case to ship to me. love that damn woman.

that being said, I'm considering maybe entertaining the thought of trading just one pliny if it can get me something special. I rarely, if ever at all, trade so I'm curious as to how far pliny is from landing an atrial

Yeah he was the first guy I've encountered in trading that was flat out off base on trade value. Also wanted me to meet him at the Lost Pines in Bastrop. Had to explain to him that where he was staying wasn't exactly Austin.

I figured pliny wouldn't get it in a 1 for 1 deal, but I was just curious if it was valuable enough that throwing in a decent local with it (vbbh or something in that neighborhood) would do it. sounds like that's not the case. oh well, I certainly won't be upset having to drink one more pliny.

I mentioned the sours to her as well, but she's completely lost when it comes to things like that and I didn't want to really press the issue as its already a completely badass thing she was doing for me. I didn't talk to her while she was there, so essentially she just told me later what she got. I honestly think she thought damnation was a sour since it's similar in name with the "ation" but it sounds really interesting regardless. can't wait to try these.

I've seen multiple krogers have the same issue with la folie. they'll price it as the lips of faith rotatonal and may or may not figure it out and change it down the lihe. I bought I think 8 of them last year at a cypress kroger at that price

How do you like it? I feel like the test batch version from last year was more hop-forward, so I'm a little disappointed with how it turned out overall. Not that it isn't a great alternative to Love Street when I want a crisp, clean beer.

Zee actual Germans currently at the brewery installing six 600BBL fermenters say it's more of a Helles to them, but they like it.

dixie whiskey, Atrial's last bottle count and limit will make it tough to land one. It's worth hunting down, but you should try Supplication and Consecration if you can get them.

I've been drinking a lot of Xocoveza and Death By Coconut lately. Love those brews. Also had a sour BCBCS last night and will be calling Goose Island this week.

Wish I could still find Xocoveza. It's all gone down here. I really liked that one.

Whole Foods on Waugh had some yesterday, and Smith St should as well, but that probably doesn't help much.

Tower point HEB in College Station has a bunch by the sushi station.
