Ended up getting a half pint of Pliny to get with my mother ****ing Drew bites, then hit tasters of Shadow of a Doubt (imperial Porter), Sanctification, Temptation, Supplication, and Consecration. Walked out with 12 Plinys and 6 Blind Pigs, none of which were for me.

destihl saint dekkera reserve quad tonight. wasn't expecting a whole lot so this certainly exceeded expectations. very well done, and you'd never know it was 11.5%. anyone tried any of the others in the series? curious if there's any that stand out. the framboise sounds particularly promising if I can ever track one down

I had some of batch #1.

It's definitely more of a novelty beer than anything else. Although I've never been a smoked beer drinker, so I'm not a great judge. Worth a try to me, but not on the JK upper echelon.

OK, let me get with the wife. She's got a baby shower in Round Rock Saturday, and we're going back to the same place on Sunday for a Super Bowl party. We're staying with her folks out in Elgin, though, so it's a long haul down to JK from there. I might try to sneak away during the shower (that was my plan to meet you anyway).

Tonight's offering for me is a homebrewed saison. 100% pilsner malt, and all Cascade hops, with lots of late additions and dry-hopped as well. Very tasty, if I do say so myself!
