I just received a nice package full of beers from down there. Some Ananke, Black Crack, Buried Hatchet, Four Square, plus some double trouble and elevated IPA.

Founder's Centennial IPA is pretty good.

Gonna look for that Scuplin IPA tomorrow @ Bunker Hill, Jetch.

Lone Pint 667 Neighbor of the Beast...

Awesome beer. Citrus dominated nose, taste and hop profile. Just bitter enough to balance the orange taste, a bit of grapefruit and of pine. Mouthfeel is perfectly creamy, not thin or syrupy. Somewhere between the swallow and ten seconds later a maltiness comes kinda out of nowhere and wipes away a bit of the bitter, essentially hitting the reset button for the next sip. A quintessential IPA....just about perfect...and sessionable to be sure...

Picked up a 4 pack of hoptimum today. Having one now... Always enjoy this release.

Also picked up a bomber of Bridgeport Stumptown. It's a fruit beer... Figured for 6 bucks it was worth a shot.

Both are solid beers

Just cracked opened Kern River's Just Outstanding IPA.

I'm a big fan of Hoptimum. I would like to try Stumptown but I doubt it will be available in BCS.

Also, I haven't seen many people with good things to say about DFH 61. Pretty much "meh" from those who I know that have tried it.

Hoptimum was solid as always. Probably bust open the Stumptown this weekend.

Was just about to post the same thing about JK. Hoping they can get their brewpub liscence and do a brewery release for this bad boy. Of course, I say that since I'm about to have the next month and a half off. Any other time, though, and I wouldn't be a fan of a brewery release.

The Stumptown is usually pretty good. It depends on which berries are in it and how the crop was. Sometimes it's a mixture of berries. One year it was all strawberry. We get a lot of berry beers up in Portland because the climate is great for the fruit up here.

I saw that JK email as well. That beer looks tasty.

For those of us who've seen JK but never bought a bottle what's a good recommended starter?

Tremble, what styles of beer do you like? Their regular offerings aren't really anything I care for. But their sours are pretty damn good.

The JK beer sounds delicious. I'm a little skeptical about the switch to 500ml bottles though. I hope it's not a cash grab.

The only ones I've had from them are Black Metal and El Cedro, and both were really good.

If you like sours... Salt Lick, Funk Metal, Das Wunderkind.

If you don't like sours... Noble King or Black Metal. Noble King is nothing really to write home about, though.

Be sure not to try JK Le Petite Prince unless you like ass water.

The only thing I really like from Jester King is their label art.

I dug the RU-55, but that's about it. Never got any funk metal, though

RU-55 is really good, as was Funk Metal. Salt Lick (called "Censored" now because TABC is retarded) I really enjoyed too. Das Uberkind is better than Wunderkind, but both are good. Boxer's Revenge is pretty good as well.

Tried Salt Lick on tap last weekend. I thought it was disaster. Maybe it's better bottled?

Crap! Forgot about RU-55 and Boxers. Probably my 2nd and 3rd favorite JK beers. Don't know if anywhere would still have them around, though.

Finally found a bottle of KBS in Houston, great start to a Memorial Day weekend, even if I do have to go to work tomorrow.

not my favorite beers, but they have a decent brewery tour in a good part of San Diego. they are also making specialty liquors on-site.

One of the best IPAs out there. I have one at home in the fridge I plan on opening this weekend.

So the #2 isn't as bad as I had heard, being cold definitely helps. Cherries added and aged in Chardonnay barrels its definitely got a sweet finish... If it was a sour it would be great.

Ok I'll admit, I liked the BB #2 all the way through... It was nicely carbonated all the way and not syrupy as I had heard. I was in the mood for something lighter and not dark/whiskey tonight, so this was ok
