Picked up both the IPA and DIPA from Founders yesterday at Specs in Midtown. Haven't gotten a chance to try either but looking forward to it.

Wow, rather disappointed in Southern Tier and their so-called 2XIPA...
Medicinal, thin, no follow thru, and confusing bitterness. Not a typical imperial ipa...no coating resin, no malt backbone, random medicinal bitterness...and looks like a pils...weird almost aspartame aftertaste once the medicine fades...a true MEH...left about 1/3 of the pint in the glass traded up...would not buy again

I felt this way after I sought it out last year in Chicago. Very weak. Would not buy again.
Eel river IPA. Not bad - the hops have a peppery flavor.
Had the southern tier at the saucer last week and it, indeed, was a big floppy donkey dick

Yeah when I lived in ND southern tier was the only branded double IPA available there so I was excited when I saw it on the shelf for the first time. I too was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed.

No. I didn't see the lady but I was moving fast. Round trip was right at 15 minutes.
The new specs in Katy already had some. It was in the back, but only had a case of each.
Racer X at a pub in Half Moon Bay, CA. Disappointed in the beer selection here so far. Stopped at a whole foods right outside San Fran this afternoon hoping to find some RRBC but it didnt happen.

Check out the waterfront brew pub in half moon bay - they have a huge variety for a brew pub - good stuff.

I definetely didn't know that, thanks for the info. Guess that means I'll try out San Jose area on the drive back up to the airport on Sunday (unless CA has a crazy beer selling law like TX)
Dude, you can buy Jack Daniels at CVS on Sunday mornings. It's a sweet set up out there. It's the only thing the legislature has done right!
