Just saw stone Escondido is in the process of shutting down for good. Used to be one of the meccas of breweries. Only made it once probably almost 20 years ago but remember it being a pretty cool place

That sucks. I know they sold out to Sapporo a few years back, but it was still good beer, an amazing property and fun to go to. I've probably been dozens of times, whether for special beer events, work happy hours, or just to get some good beers and food.

Short with beard? I don't know his name but all the stewards know I'm looking for Hazy IPA. They are all extremely enthusiastic and helpful there.

Probably not him then (unless he grew a beard in the last few years). He is a pretty short guy, but Italian with no beard last I saw him. He moves around a lot. Originally started at Lakeline HEB.

Dang. That Liberty Station location was a stop for me when flying in/out of SAN. Even hit it on a layover before.

Firestone Walker bought the Stone brand, but apparently not the main facility in Escondido.

With all this talk about Stone, I think this beer is relevant. A collab I found at HEB from a Jackson, WY brewery and Firestone Walker. Pretty good.

Dank IPA at Pedal Haus Brewing in Phoenix. Pretty good for my first beer here.

The place has a pretty cool vibe inside. The outdoor deck and patio look cool too, but they are not open. Maybe they just open during the winter.

There may be more AI than I would like in the logo. Maybe I'm just not seeing the fifth finger?

Anyway, it is from Scottsdale, so still local. There is a slightly odd aftertaste, but I am coming around to liking it.


Wren House Brewing - Wrenovation IPA. Nice to have better access to west coast IPAs. This one is taking some time to get into after the last one.

I don't think I posted this one from a month or so ago. Really nice hazy.
