I think we are going to swing over to Wildflyer Meadery and Brewery in Navasota tomorrow for lunch. I had their Helles with lunch today at my local pub and it was really good. We have reservations at Primrose Path for supper. Thursday lunch is still open.

The original Wild Flyer location a few miles south of Navasota is just down the road from a great winery, Threshold Vineyards. But Threshold is only open on weekends.

Did a local Shipley's catch fire?

Krispy Kreme was burned down, but don't recall a Shipley's.

Been to both Wild Flyer locations and they are very cool spots to have, especially for Navasota.

The original location is on the farm and it nice for a fall or spring afternoon hang. The one in downtown Navasota has a better menu and some really good food. And, surprisingly, their beer is actually quite good. I'm a fan.

Downtown Nav in general has really been spruced up. Can easily spend an afternoon/evening there if you're a foodie/boozie

We've been to Wildflyer several times. Their beers are solid…a small notch below beers like Yellow Rose, Art Car, Jai Alai, etc. My wife likes their lower alcohol meads, which are lighter and carbonated when compared to well known meads like Schramms.

Today's Friday share beers. The Zy.Tho.Phile from Lone Pint was surprisingly bitter but very good. All Chinook hops if you are a fan like me. The Looks Good in Neon from Wildflyer was good and actually better in my opinion than when I had it on draft at the source a couple days ago. The King Sue I think is fairly well known on this thread and was very good as expected. It was canned about a month ago. The Saison Dupont wasn't really a share beer, I just bought a bottle for my own self but did share it around. Pretty sure everyone here is familiar with it. The winner of the day of the share beers (4 out of 5 drinkers) was the Evel Knievel from Destihl. Well balanced and very drinkable for a double West Coast IPA. Cheers

Honor is hit or miss for me, mostly miss. Brewery is about 15 minutes from my house, and is a great setup, but the food is meh and most of the beer is as well, so we rarely go. Glad you enjoyed that one, though!

Today's Friday share beers. The Jarvis German style Pilsner from Turning Point was just ok to me. It did not have that Pilsner sulfuryness that I expected. It also finished a little sweet. The Mykhola Helles lager from Ukraine I bought in honor of my great grandfather who immigrated from there in 1905. It was pretty bad in my opinion. Some sharers described it as ok. It finished extremely sweet with a strong honey note. The Buckle Bunny from Eureka Heights was really good. The Shuteye Peak Pale ale from Aldi was decent and sounds like a good deal. I think my buddy said he paid $12.99 for a 12 pk. I think most here are familiar with Little Rose and Ghost so I won't ramble on. Cheers

More of a bourbon guy than a beer guy, although I do enjoy a good beer now and then. Anyone here tried the Heaven Hill Goose Island 2025 Bourbon Barrel Stout? I bought it a few weeks ago at the liquor store, I was a sucker for the packaging, it looks so cool.

I have had some of the Goose Island Bourbon Barrel releases in previous years and enjoyed them. I have seen people online saying that they get better with age, but I have never waited to drink. Any input?
