I think there are only a few breweries I would trust a triple IPA with beforehand, without looking at reviews and what not. Just a tough style.

Luplin Brewery (local) did one and it was perfect! This was totally one note, garbage. It'll be good after a looong day when all you want is 10ABV, but other than that it's a trash beer

Kantishna, Alaska (end of park road in Denali National Park). It's crazy because some parts look like the hill country, some parts look like Kauai, and some parts are just straight Alaska. Such a gorgeous place.

The Black is Beautiful beers hold a special place in my heart due to my daughter and I'm happy to buy them when I see them. Picked up JK and Pinthouse versions today. I'd suggest completely skipping the JK unless you like soy sauce. Just not well done. The Pinthouse version is a worthy pickup though.

Yeah, I didn't finish that one. They went wayyy overboard with the almond extract. Probably my least favorite of theirs.

This one though... fabulous.

Edit: Oh. It's the Key Lime Pie.

Been getting to try quite a few different offerings from Pondaseta Brewing out of Amarillo. I've been surprised by the quality. I'd say they've skyrocketed to top brewery in the town.

Having said that, this one wasn't anything special.

The comment about them being the best in town was sort of said tounge in cheek since there aren't many others, but I've still enjoyed them.

I don't live there anymore, but am originally from the panhandle. They've become a welcomed addition when I go back home.

Where are you from in the panhandle? I'm originally from up there too. Dimmitt and Tulia for me.
