Stone Vertical Epic 12.12.12.
Last of the vertical epic series. Belgian strong dark ale. Very good on tap. Lots of chocolate and spices.

Not a new fridge, that's been my trusty beer fridge since about 08. Got a bit of damage in the move though It has a reserved spot in my new 3.5 car garage though, the slab of which just got poured today Soon I'll have to fork up some cash for my basement bar fridge

Fridge 1 - in upstairs dry bar, too much crappy domestic and gf beer taking up space



Fridge 2 - garage, needs restocking



Need to step my game up as well.

P-wonk: been to summit many times myself, if you make it back up there again try to get on a surly tour. Kinda like the difference between st Arnold and karbach. I really regret never making a surly tour during my time up there but the tours always filled up so damn fast

Bsd-good eye, that's the last of my CA haul. Sitting on Beautification x2, Consecration x1 and Supplication x2. I'm really trying to make these last but it's difficult to say the least.

Picked up a Black Ops tonight for the hell of it. I'll give it a whirl over Christmas

Saw them at World Market today.

Bourbon barrel beer...

I was in Louisville for a trade show. At the hotel sports bar, they recommended Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. I asked for a sample and thought, "Wow!"

I ordered a pint. As a sipped it, I thought that it was really good, but that I would get tired of it. I didn't. For the next three days, I tried to get tired of it, but never did.

KBBA is an amber ale. In the bottle, it's not close to the version on tap, but still, very, very good. Unfortunately, this beer is not available in Texas (my liver applauds this fact).

The only beer I've had that's close is a rum casked beer that's imported from Scotland. I've only found it in Chicago.



Speaking of Chicago, a far different bourbon barrel beer was introduced to me by the guy who wrote "The Idiot's Guide to Beer." It's Bourbon County, which is a Goose Island product. According to my Chicago employees, you typically have to ask for it and the amount any store will sell you is limited.

Bourbon County is a sipping beer. The ABV is .15. It's a stout. And, it is very, very good.



There are several interesting beers that are whiskey or boubon casked. Rahr's bourbon casking of their English Winter Warmer is a case in point. While these are interesting, none of them holds a candle to KBBA or Goose Island Bourbon County.

Picked up a vertical epic at specs last night, and will probably give it a go sometime this week. Also had a steam Christmas and Lenny's ripa last night at petrol. Both excellent and it was my first time to go to petrol, pretty cool place.

Had the theobroma at obannons back during the Florida game weekend, I enjoyed it.

This is the reason I have been seeking out bourbon barrel ales...I toured their factory while in Lexington, and it is the one thing I truly miss about Kentucky. Also, found a Dogfather and the Winter Warmer stocked well at Tower Point HEB, so no real hurry to get either. The Winter Wonder is fantastic! Enjoyed one last night and may do so again this evening...close to the KBBA!

One can never have too much Bourbon County Brand Stout.

We were supposed to get it in CO this year, but alas, that was untrue. I just bought a crap ton of Abyss and have been trading for 4packs of BCBS. Should have about a case once I wrap up all the trades.

Just had a Wicked Beaver Cream Weaver. Wasn't bad, but wasn't fantastic. I'm a sucker for texas beers when I see them. First time i'd see this brewery available in a store.

i spilled a little and the dog definitely liked it.

Ridgeback from no label is solid.

army, I had that orange bottle Rogue on tap. It was very good. Expect a BLAST of chocolate in very sip.
