I won't say it's worth the price, but I really enjoyed it. Cold coffee with lots of subtle sweetness, fruitiness and la folie tartness/funk

Tried the BCBS cafe variant last night. It was great but wouldn't want more than 5-6 ounces at a time.

They have a ton of regular BCBS, plus cherry & coffee & wheatwine variants back in the wine section at Bunker HEB

I just don't have a huge BCBS boner anymore to drop a bunch of caysh on em anymore. Opted for some fresh two hearted & GITM instead since its balls hot outside

Most big HEBs and big box liquor stores seem to have it regularly. Bunker HEB gets some of the can releases fresh off the truck too, most recently Attacus Atlas.

Got to spend some extra time in Georgia with family after the game. Managed to sneak in a trip to my favorite brewery in Georgia: Scofflaw. The first time they went, they were a small, unknown operation, but they have bulked up production and distribution. You can find the Basement IPA all over the region. They're still killing it with their IPAs.

There are several in the Atlanta area still on my to do list, but Scofflaw is my go to for now.

First trip to Athens:
  • Creature Comforts was as tremendous as expected: IPAs, Sours, and Stouts. Great location too.
  • Akademia was a very nice surprise. Would recommend.

Didn't make it to the other two. But I think I picked well.

I can echo the love for Creature Comforts after visiting while in Athens for the game. Awesome atmosphere and outstanding beer. Pretty sure the place was about 75% Aggies the Friday night before the game.

We met up with MattJaxson and his wife at Creature Comforts too and shared a couple of nice bottles. Great to get to meet them and put another face to a name here.

We were there Friday night. I asked the bartender if it was typically that busy the night before a game and she emphatically said "No, it's all these Texans." She said they'd never seen so many visiting fans before "and that includes Notre Dame." When you're outnumbering the Catholics in a brewery, that's pretty good.

Several other places echoed her observation and simply said they weren't ready for the types of crowds we brought.

Real Ale Coffee Porter is one of my favorite fall/winter beers. This has a little thicker mouthfeel and depth in the coffee flavor. It's fantastic but gotta watch the ABVs.
