Speaking of bottle shares, my wife and I will be in the Reed lot next Saturday before the Ole Miss game with nothing more than a couple of folding chairs and a bottle of hammer smashed face. Come by if you want.

Anyone have problems in the past with JK Black Metal bottles being flat? I had 2 from batch #18 6-29-2016 that were terrible. What's SOP for this happening? Should I contact them?

Couldn't hurt to contact them but I think you will need to call them. I have not gotten any response from email or Facebook messenger. I would like to know what they say. I have had flat black metal in the past and I know Lt Joe Bookman had a recent one.

Last I heard was their label didn't get approved by TABC or they were waiting on approval. Something like that.
Bought one off the interwebs and had it shipped to me. It was pretty good.

It seems like TABC has somthing against this and Abyss. In any case, I'm hoping to find two of both this year which would give me a 6yr vertical of Black Butte and 7 of Abyss Then it's time to drink them.

Had some as well this evening, does this years vintage seem "thinner" than previous years?

Weird, I thought the same thing drinking mine.

Aged this one for a year to let it mellow out some. Strongest beer I've ever drank. Figured it'd be good for sipping on a weeknight.

Girlfriend thought it smelled like straight rum.

Well, ***** Time to book a trip out west.

the coffee version of the good, the bad, and the unidragon is outstanding. If you didn't like the original, this probably won't change your mind as its still a smoked malt bomb, but I love that about it. does anyone know if this is replacing the original or is just a temporary special edition? i assume the latter but the fact that there's no change in the name at all makes me curious. my best guess is maybe clown shoes will treat this similarly to the pecan pie porter (which is great this year btw) and have variations in it from year to year. just a guess though.

I got mine shipped to me from beership .com, I looked yesterday to see if they still had it but they were out of stock. Maybe check back with them every now and then. maybe they will get more. They can ship to Texas legally so they claim.
