Robert Earl Keen '78 will formally open Aggie Park with a free concert on September 2 his final show in Aggieland!

The Aggie Park Kickoff Concert is coordinated by The Association of Former Students and sponsored by Southwest Airlines, the Office of Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp '72, the Office of Texas A&M President M. Katherine Banks, and Bob '85 and Kelly '86 Jordan.

Keen, a Texas music icon and a Distinguished Alumnus of Texas A&M, is retiring from touring this year. Opening for him Sept. 2 will be Max Stalling '89 and The Barn Dogs (all A&M students, Classes of '23-'25).

The concert will end before Midnight Yell Practice, just across the street in Kyle Field.

Uhh… it's a big, grand park right in the middle of campus where most visitors will go. Aggie Park makes sense.

Aggie Park already exists in San Antonio.

Hence the earlier joke about it being at 410 and West Ave.

You should go by sometime. It's a great place with good people and inspiring history.

Ok didn't catch the "attempt" at humor. Maybe if you would have quoted the 410/West Ave joke I would have realized you were joking with your 6 week old thread bump. Born and raised puro so I know Aggie Park well.
