I got another question
Why are baseboards not done and why are the plugs already on before paint

Because contractors are idiots, and different crews go there to do their jobs at different times regardless of any obstacles or best practices getting in their way. There is also little to no communication between anyone.

On my builds we paint baseboard in another location (ex. garage or outside) before install so it's easier to spray and a cleaner finish. Floors get installed then install baseboard and trim, then caulk and touchup. Either way, floors would be installed before baseboards.

You also don't get overspray as easy when it's painted off vs installed. You're using two types of paint usually.

Plugs are dependent on inspection and if power is needed on a location. They are easy to tape so moot point really.

Drywall was taped & floated, no skim coat.

Primer was rolled on, nothing was sprayed.

2 coats of paint so far, rolled. From what I can tell they never stirred/mixed the paint before starting and left the buckets open overnight and started again the next day. Not sure if they just threw out the remnant paint and opened a new 5gal or used up what was left out overnight.

The trim is a whole other debacle of similar ineptitude.

I've got one paint crew, one plumber, one electrician, one trim guy, one framer, one concrete guy and so on. We've fired everyone else from our jobs.

My electrician calls my plumber and vice versa if there's an issue.

Our crews have been with us for decades.

If you're going to build a *custom house, its vital to ask about the subs, how long they've been working with builder, so on and so on. It's the subs who make the builder look good.

Then you've got a good coordinated crew, but I've been in situations where that's not always the case.

I have no idea what went wrong and what the best fix is for that, but I do know I'm never tackling another remodel project in my lifetime. Our last one in 2019 was enough.

Could be a base primer or could be uneven coating on the repaint of the eggshell finish. Eggshell finish has a light sheen in the paint and when coverage is not complete you can see the differences in the sheen from one application to another. They can definitely do better for sure.

The drywall either was not primed, improperly primed, or watered down and you are seeing the vertical screw/nail floats every 16 inches or the person rolling was starting mid wall instead of finishing the final roll starting at top to bottom. Measure and see if those vertical lines are ~16 inches apart on center. What brand primer was used ? What SW eggshell finish is this ? Pro mar 200 or 400 ? Duration ? Emerald ? What is up with the trim ? Looks like pry marks on that door casing between the jamb ? Why paint the walls before the trim is on and caulked to the drywall ? Priming yes but makes zero sense to me.

Paint is about a solid B+ grade after the third attempt.

Bigger issue is that master shower pan leaks like a sieve. They're ripping it out today.

I assumed everyone at this point was using Kerdi-Schluter products. If they aren't, why not? It seems like this would be like me insisting on finding someone to hand hew wood shakes for my builds instead of just buying shingles. There are some real fool proof technologies around today, and I wish folks would embrace more of them.

Sorry to hear you are having issues, but I have no doubt they will be resolved. At the end of the day, as frustrating as it is, you are in a position to have a new house built to your taste. That's a pretty great thing in the grand scheme of things.

They are using Schluter strips.
