We have a large family and do 2 to 4 loads a day. Bought a speed queen about 7 years ago and have not been pleased. Currently shopping for something different. Any recommendations?

No help on the washer since it has been purchased, but we still have my wife's grandmother's GE dryer. Simple, simple, simple. We had to have a tech come out because of a squealing rotor that I didn't want to tackle because I was worried about setting the drum back right. The guy had the same opinion as you. Keep it as long as you can, easy to replace parts and less to break down.Jason_InfinityRoofer said:
Personally, we are still using our Roper machines. They are 20 years old. We have a washer and dryer. They trick to longevity is buying a machine with no bells and whistles. I like to buy the biggest cheap ones they sell. I find there is more quality baked into them than the more expensive units. Parts are easily available and inexpensive. There just isn't a lot to them to break down.
If you have to have HE, chimes, WiFi connections and linking to you iPhone calendar then these aren't going to do that. Mine use a crap ton of water with a big old nasty grease beating agitator and clothes come out clean which is the way I like it.
