I have State Farm insurance and they offered me a free electrical system monitoring device called Ting. You plug it in and it monitors the electrical system and sends notifications of power surges and possible fire hazards. I have no idea how the fire hazards part works, so I don't know how to judge it.
This evening, I got an alert of a potential fire hazard that Ting states is probably related to the neutral connection where the power line ties into the house. I have zero perceived electrical issues in our house. It's a 1955 model and we have done a lot of electrical work to update it. I feel like I have a pretty good feel for
signs of electrical issues, but I'm not an electrician
My question, anyone familiar with Ting and is it reliable? Do I have a right now problem or should I not be worried? I know impossible to answer fully but thought I would ask people smarter than me.
