I'll give you that. I feel like the stainless steel apron sinks will stick around, but I don't see the white porcelain ones staying. I also don't see the white kitchen sticking around forever.

?dl=0quote:Traditional stainless steel in general is already on the way out. I was just in a meeting with GE, and they said the demand for SS appliances is dropping dramatically. Complaints are mainly that it's too sterile. The new trend is graphite, pewter, or black stainless.

Fine, I'll say it. Farmhouse sinks may be functional, but I think they look like ass in 90% of kitchens.

quote:We rarely use ours. Almost everything tastes significantly better heated on the stovetop or in the oven. I'll probably put it in storage soon and see how it goes.
No microwave. Takes a little adjusting to, but it cuts down on the crap fast food as well.

quote:We haven't had one since we moved into our new house in April. Honestly, I haven't missed it much. We used to do those rice bags in the microwave a lot, but now just do it the old fashioned way on the stove.quote:We rarely use ours. quote:Yep.. formula takes 20 seconds in microwave.. no way I'm getting out a pot and heating water on the stove. That's like, 20 minutes? I realize baby formula is very temporary.. but still, it's a solid year.
I considered going microwaveless, but we use ours mostly for reheating small amounts of liquids and other things that the oven would dry out too much. It serves that niche better than anything else does IMO.
quote:You can also add a damp paper towel on top of the container you microwave in and it will help things from drying out.
I reheat food every day in the microwave and it tastes awesome. Reheat on half power for better results.

quote:Funny thing is, we don't use it at all for formula. Mrs. Fife found one of these on a local mom swap FB group at a steep discount and it works great.quote:Yep.. formula takes 20 seconds in microwave.. no way I'm getting out a pot and heating water on the stove. quote:hah it doesn't surprise me there is a device like this. That's a little much, definitely gotta have the counter top space.quote:Funny thing is, we don't use it at all for formula. Same thing, we moved in to our home in Early May, and haven't had one since there isn't a built in. Now that the wife is back at work, we are missing it more and more. But all summer it grilled veggies were much better than from the microwave.

quote:I love this... Its like pantone colors. Once everyone has it, they need a new product to sell you - why would you buy another stainless fridge... So they get the cool hunters to buy into the next "style" so now your perfectly fine and stylish fridge is "out" and you've got Joneses type problems because now you need a "graphite" fridge. Know what's coming back? Formica tops and white appliances.

I think the copper phase will go away. I just dont see that trend sticking around, but who knows, maybe it will.
