I am in the process of beginning a kitchen remodel and will be in Austin this weekend.

While there I would like to visit some kitchen showrooms to look at countertops / ranges / ovens.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Do NOT go to Direct Buy. Anyplace else is better unless you are a contractor and I'm not even sure a contractor would save money or get the best products there.

When we lived in Austin, (2 years ago) there was no central "kitchen remodel" store that I knew about.

IKEA has some great kitchen products and some great displays to provide ideas. I'd give them a look.

edit to add IKEA info.

Actually, there is. It's the Kiva store (owned by McNairs Appliance) on Burnet Road. It's a nice place. http://www.kivahome.com/

Besides Kiva/Mcnairs, there is Harway Supply up on burnet/rutland. I have a contact there that will take care of you. Most appliance companies just have random c-tops in their mock ups. If you want to see tops, I suggest goung to the granite companies and looking at their stock. If you are in the Burnet/183 area, you can pretty much pick out everything for a home all within a couple of blocks. There are numerous appliance, granite, flooring, etc... companies all along that corridor.

Also, if you're interested in looking at cabinetry and hardware, the Design Center of Austin is a fun place to look.

Thanks for the info.

Mainly want to look at some good high BTU cooktops.

Leaning towards the quartz countertops right now and would like to see a good sampling of some of those.

Sinks / faucets / cabinet hardware / etc.

Kiva is the plumbing side of McNairs Appliances. They will have what you need there. There is also Austin Plumbing Supply which is a block or 2 from Kiva on Burnet Road. There is also Fergusons plumbing supply down South off of St. Elmo and Ben White Blvd. If you are still up North looking in the Burnet/183 area, BMC has a show room for hardware.

Where are you building?

Ferguson Bath & Kitchen Gallery is by far the best showroom in Austin! Kiva has been a big dissapointment. They began their remodeling from McNairs to Kiva what seems to be two or three years ago. Still looks like they are in a state of constant half arse flux. It's a truly un-appealing showroom. Ferguson info:
