I'll go ahead and say if anyone wants to sell two tickets any day I'll pay the secondary rate. Too many years missing out and want to take my father before he cant walk the course.

Just fyi I took my dad at 74, and he can't walk the course, but Augusta allows personal mobility scooters. We rented one from a local dealer. They are all new and he literally went everywhere besides greenside at #10 which has huge slopes. Honestly if you have a handicap sticker designation for your car I would get one. It's a life saver for older folks and so much easier to see the entire course.

Has anyone tried the volunteer route? No pay, but you do get to play a round at Augusta after the tournament.

That's really cool actually, may be worth a shot, just to be able to play Augusta

from my understanding Volunteer positions rarely come available (if you did it last year you get first right of refusal for the next year), and you either have to know a member or current volunteer to recommend you.

BUT you can "work" the tournament and get paid. I think it is like 8 hour shifts across a couple of days, and when you are not working you can walk around the course. Only thing you don't get to do is play the course. There was a thread on this board right after the Masters detailing some of this experience if I remember correctly.

Update. Hate to brag, but my buddy who goes every year has an extra ticket for me and I will be in attendance on Wednesday and Thursday. I owe this man my life.

Booradley volunteers- extremely hard position to get- have to know a member or a current volunteer and get in when an opening happens.

Wsteed worked the tournament and yes basically 8+ hour days (with plenty of breaks to watch golf) but you have to work the entire tournament + ANWA + DCP i believe, so 10days of work. Get paid, get to hangout at ANGC- not a bad gig... but like you said, can't play the course.

It's apparently a VERY tough gig ... very long hours and not much pay.

Here's an article about the 12 different, and difficult, ways you can play ANGC:

Very tough gig doesn't mean it's a bad gig. I never said it was easy. And I bet the majority of people that sign up to work it that would be traveling there from other states and not a local aren't doing it for the money.

Buy them on secondary or drive around Augusta and see if any of the guys with "need tickets" have any. But in my very limited experience with asking one of them, they don't have any and really are looking for tickets (to resale)

The very expensive second-hand market and hope you don't get caught.

Yeah, the secondhand market has gotten absolutely outrageous because people have stopped selling that way. Once the Masters started pulling people out of line to interview them about how they got their tickets - and then revoking (permanently) if there was a hint of aftermarket flavor to it, it dried up. Seatgeek won't sell them at all

Yep. The second-hand market is VERY risky now. Thus fewer tickets are being sold.

BY FAR the best way to get in unless you have a badge is the asking patrons leaving method after 1 p.m.

Anyone have any experience on the process of getting a phone in/approved as a medical device? Type 1 diabetic on insulin pump/continuous glucose monitoring looping that has to be done thru phone. A lot of online chatter about their being a way, and figure my best bet is to call them and ask. Curious if anyone had past experience?

And sorry, no not going to be a reason I give up my ticket.

Call ANGC and ask them. They are VERY accommodating to patron's needs.

Stepdaughter was pumping milk while we were there. She was allowed to bring pump and a small cooler with ice packs through security. They had nursing stations for her. Insane level of patron courtesy.

All you Wednesday guys are so lucky!! So jealous.

I have not been on a Thur-Sunday and would go if got the opportunity but it is So great to watch on their app now that I would say going on a Wednesday is better than any other day even tourney days, because of the casual fun vibe and the Par 3 tourney is so fun and you can get so close to all the pros.

With no phones and TV's to watch on Thur-Sunday I would guess you have no idea what is going on.

While I agree with you to an extent from a fun/experience standpoint.

It's just a different experience. there's no substitute for being there when no cameras allowed. Everyone is in the moment and the players are absolutely locked in.
Enrico Pallazzo

Wednesday is strong, but I think Tuesday is still the best practice round day. Everyone plays on Tuesday, fun atmosphere. On Wednesday, the par 3 is a bit of a mass of humanity - tons of patrons, not much real estate to cram into. Then on the real course, most don't play it at all and it is closed to players for the afternoon.

I don't know how much this rings true for others, but the best comparison I have is when you go on Mon-Wed you go to see Augusta National. When you go on Thurs-Sun you go to see the Masters.

It's a dumb/obvious analogy, but I think it makes sense. You miss the Masters roar, the daled in players, etc when you go for a practice round as others have already stated. Going on a practice round is still absolutely incredible. Not trying to take anything away from those days.

Good points and agree. The "Masters" is on Thursday to Sunday.

Either way, hope I make it to another day at the "Tradition unlike any other" before I leave this earth. It is the best event I have ever been too.
