Struggling more with an easy OU golf club course than Pinehurst first two rounds. His game and the KFT type courses don't seem to mix well.

Just some bad bad golf recently. Last week can be excused because that course is brutal, even though the collapse was a little suspect. But his last two Korn Ferry events have been very shaky. Starting to fall a little away from the top 30. Going to need a bounce back week next week to right the ship.

no but projected cut line is going to go above to 5

Doubles last hole... Hopefully the extra days off can allow him to bounce back next week.

Much much better this week. -4 through first 9.

Don't put too much into a single back 9 or even a week of golf....golf is a marathon. Guys go through playing well and playing poorly. He has a great history of being very competitive and performing under pressure. Some courses will set up better for him than others.

Try not to draw conclusions based off of short time frames...

"He can't finish"
"He has no stamina"
"He can't putt from xyz distance"

The kid is a player, stats say he needs to hit it longer but that may or may not be possible.

I agree with all of that. That said, the system of the Korn Ferry tour rewards winning and consistent high finishes. You can keep your card on the PGA tour playing consistent golf and making most cuts, but that too 30 promotion needs a win and/or multiple top 10s.

I also agree his game is better suited for tougher courses on the big tour than it is for the vast majority of KF setups.

He can compete on PGAT, we have seen it. PGAT would also allow him to pick his spots and courses where is strengths would shine. He can't do that right now...I've got a good buddy in a very similar situation.

-5 on day. Not a bad round at all. 2 off lead. Do that 4 times and you got yourself a top 10 haha.

Left a lot on table though.

Missed a 5 and 6 footer for birdie on two holes and missed a 6 footer for bogey on another. That 6 foot range kills him.

Cut is projected -7. Freaking wild.

Currently T8 at -16 after round 3. Just plugging along. Solid tourney so far!

Eagle on 16 moves him T2! Looking good for a top 5 at the moment.

Bogies the final hole. The difference in a top 2,3,4 finish is massive compared to a 8,9,10 finish in terms of the points list.

Dangit. Bad chip on 18 and then misses putt to bogey. Will be a top 10 but sucks he had an opportunity for his first top 5.

Unfortunately that's the difference between moving inside top 30 and staying just outside. Overall a good tourney especially after the last two he had.

Gonna be a hot one at TPC Colorado this weekend. Hoping Sam plays well. May brave the heat Sunday depending on how he plays. Will be home from vacation Saturday evening.

It's certainly dry. There is no shade on the entire course though other than the 8th green.
