Currently projected to finish 31 due to some guy outside of the top 30 leading the tournament right now. I think if that guy drops out of the top 3, Bennett should be okay as long as no one else outside the top 30 makes a big move this weekend.
Also, finishing higher than Cone would go a long way. They are both tied in this tournament and in the season standings at the moment.

So brutal. He's basically on a season cut line. That's a lot of golf played to still be a shot or two away from getting your card or not.

Putting is so bad! He missed a 7' birdie putt by 4' and followed it up on the next hole leaving a 62' putt 16' away for par and three jacked.
It's wild how good he could be as an average tour level putter.

Yep - was +7 thru 8 holes earlier.

He doesn't necessarily need a big day tomorrow. Bauchou and Redman dropping back a bit tomorrow would do it.

He also played himself into a lot more events. His status was shaky at the beginning, but his play has basically made him a full member
Of the Korn Ferry Tour? That's a for sure. Finishing 30-60 guarantees you full status next year on KFT.
Huge mistake off the tee on an easy par 5. I hate to say it but that might be the nail in the coffin. Feel for him.

It appears the wheels are coming off early.
What a deflating end to the season... Crazy that making one putt in his top 3s that would have given him solo 2nd could be the difference.
For live projections - Sam is projected to drop from 30 to 33 currently. Hasn't played well at all, but the real killer is the top 3 on the leaderboard being non-top 30 guys making a big leap.

I get it, but I hate how much a win influences thing. Sam made far more cuts and top finishes than Potgeiter but the win is keeping him afloat. It happens. Sam had it all in front of his though and kind of fell apart the last few tourneys.
Finishing 31 sucks. Who knows, maybe Q school will be kind to him

Yeah, top 5 out of a 150-170ish player field. Extremely difficult, especially for a guy who is not a big "go super low" player.
While disappointing, I think this is for the better for him imo. His short game was really bad and having an off-season and full status on KFT will be good for him. Some of these kinks in his game wouldn't be fun to work out on the PGA tour
Par 5 scoring, putting, and scrambling should be his off-season focus.
He'll get a second look at the courses next season so should help with scoring too.
Needs to eat some hamburgers and ice cream this off season.
The doubles today/yesterday were painful. If they were just bogeys, we'd probably be congratulating him tonight. We were watching the leaderboard all morning, hoping he'd pull thru. Just wasn't his day. He's on the cusp. Next year will be his year!
Kill em in Q school finals
Didn't realize Thornberry won. He's had a rough time since winning the ncaa.
He had T4, T12 and a win in the last 4 tournaments. Got it done when it mattered.
Yeah this was his first professional win. Been on KFT since 2019.
If he doesn't get his card through Q school this year, he needs to step it up and get top 30 next year on the KF Tour. Starting in 2026, only the top 20 players get to the PGAT.

So, the 2025 season has the Top 20 only (not 2026)?
There has been a big push by the established tour players to reduce the number of cards and reduce field sizes, especially early in the year. Too often rounds aren't done before it gets dark even if there isn't a weather delay. I would be willing to bet they go from top 125 retain cards to top 100 in a few years.
I rarely watch golf on TV nowadays except for Sunday of a major and only the final few holes. These guys are just boring. They can reduce the field but that just means more money spread around to fewer players. The product they put out would still suck. If they want to finish before it gets dark, play faster.Kansas Kid said:
