He's not firing at the pins. He's playing smart and taking what the course gives him. If the birdie putts drop, great, but he's securing pars and moving on. He and Kortan are doing all the right things.
Yep. He shoots at the flag when he can and when it isn't overly penalized to miss close, but otherwise he is playing more safe and just working the course. Fewer course management mistakes today (and he only had 2-3 yesterday)!1872walker said:

And yes, then he got it back. That's what great competitors do. That's what I said he needed to do. Nowhere did I say he was spiraling or his round was over.
The pairing of Thomas and Bones has not been great. Sure he won the PGA last year but that was more of a case of everyone cratering. He used to have great iron play and it's no longer there. His putting has been horrible with 2 to 3 three putts a round.
