I am starting to call around and get our trip booked this week for the weekend of 6/10. We're doing a Friday afternoon round and 36 on Saturday, so preferably Saturday will be somewhere with 2 18s so we wont have to drive between rounds. Unfortunately I called We ko Pa today and they said that it would be tough to get 2 back to back tee times, so I think that is out on Saturday. Judging by you guys comments I'm thinking my best option for Saturday is either going to be Greyhawk or Dinosaur Mountain. Looking at online availability, Greyhawk looks a lot more favorable on open slots and I love the $310 rate for 36. For those that have done 36 there, will they will let you play both courses with that rate?

Friday afternoon pretty much all courses are wide open, so narrowing that down between We ko Pa and Troon. Unless of course any of you guys can convince me otherwise and that I'm doing it wrong......

I'm sure they're both great but keep in mind Grayhawk is hosting the NCAA Championships at the end of May so they're gonna have that course is tip top shape.

It is CPO starting May 3 so it will be. But that's only the Raptor course.

Kind of a bummer but I'll take CPO for tournament conditions and for us the highs are gonna be in the high 80s so I don't mind too much.

May be a deal breaker for Puddy later in May if the temps get too high.

I booked it earlier. We are good to go and the guy in the pro shop said no CPO after the NCAA tourney, only leading up to it. We're playing Talon in the am and Raptor in the afternoon. Now to decide on the Friday afternoon course

Sunridge or dinosaur

Wild opinion, talon is better than raptor

Just called and Dinosaur is booked up for an event that Friday. Is Sidewinder worth it?

Just booked flights for buddies trip in October. Weather should be awesome. Looks like I have to wait until 90 days out to book the golf rounds for most of the courses listed in this thread. The added bonus is betting on college football games at the casinos.

Got back yesterday and man what a trip. The weather was absolutely incredible with highs in the 70s/80s with lows in the 60s.

TPC Champions - Had no expectations going in to this round but I came away impressed. It was in very nice shape and it was a great 1st round of the trip. Great deal for under $200.

Troon Monument - I have mixed feelings on this one as it was in great shape with some really incredible views especially in the evening as we teed off at 3 and finished as the sun set. But I wasn't a fan of this course from a golf perspective. I thought it was just too tricked up and too much target golf for my liking. Beautiful course and was a ton of fun, but not really my cup of tea.

Grayhawk Talon - What a setup they have at Grayhawk. It's incredible all around. Talon was great. It's a lot of what you see is what you get. A nice incredibly conditioned course that was super fun.

Grayhawk Raptor - So the course is set up for the NCAA Championships here in a couple weeks and it's ready. Because of that it was CPO but that didn't bother us at all. The rough was grown up everywhere and to say that the greens were slick was an understatement. It was like putting on tile floor. Smooth and true but deadly fast. The elevated greens coupled with undulations and mounding everywhere make it very difficult. We were grinding being very content coming away with bogeys. It'll be fun to watch how those guys play it on TV.

Overall just an awesome trip. If planning a trip I'd recommend all four courses we played. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of Troon I'd suggest it for the beauty and the views. Both Grayhawk courses are a must play IMO. The conditioning, layout, views, facility including the cart girls) were top notch all around.

I could play goat tracks in Scottsdale and have a great time. There is hardly any wind and the dry cook mornings are amazing. Far cry from gold in north Texas.

Anyone ever play Gainey Ranch Golf club. It's part of that Invited deal. Not sure it's even worth messing with out there with so many good options.

We went with Talon and Ambiente. Wanted Saguaro but the group waited to long and could not get a morning tee time. To hot to play later.

Anyone have any recommendations on courses for next week? Seems like most are overseeding right now. How is Papago? They are open

Just got back from Scottsdale on Sunday. It was hot, but it was way more bearable than playing here in south Texas. The mornings are pretty nice and the afternoon highs are just barely touching 100. A lot better than the 110-115s they were still getting a few weeks ago.

I was only planning on playing one round as our other days are booked with other excursions. Just trying to find a decent course that is open close to Scottsdale

Heading to Scottsdale in 3 weeks. After this brutal summer, I'm just looking forward to highs in the 80s and lows in 50-60s. Unfortunately missing this trip We Ko Pa and Gold Canyon Dinosaur due to over-seeding closures.

All the courses except one will be CPO. Despite that, I still think we'll get in the 36 on Friday and Saturday due to going off so early each day.

Thursday- Lookout Mountain
Friday- Eagle Mountain, Sunridge Canyon
Saturday- Grayhawk Talon, Legend Trail
Sunday- Mountain Shadows (par 3 course)

Will do. Is Isabella's Kitchen at Grayhawk worth coming back to for dinner on Saturday night? Read where it was a hotspot for north Scottsdale.

I hope you're right about highs in the 80's in 3 weeks. It was hot AF all summer. I think the final tally was 54 days 110+.

It's starting to get great though. Wednesday when I went outside at 6AM to drink coffee and solve problems with the people on my block my neighbor from Minnesota was wearing a hoodie which empowered me to wear one every morning.
