Unpopular take - 1 round at Cypress Point = 5 rounds at Augusta.

Two questions.
1. How much would you pay to play Augusta if that was an option? (I think I could scrape together $10,000 for a round.)
2. You are given the chance to play Augusta, however, you have this dilemma. The round is free if you can make one birdie, playing from the tips, as it is set up for the pros. If you fail to make a birdie you spend one year in jail. (I think I would have to sit that one out.)
Can't blame you - its a beautiful place and watching the event every year will make you wonder how you would play the holes, etc. Plus the common view by many is that its the best course in the world. All my friends give me crap for insisting that my number 1 bucket list course is Cypress Point.bagger05 said:jonj101 said:

I think it's a valid opinion.
Honestly I don't know enough about Pine Valley or Cypress Point to be able to say I'd rather play at one of those than play Augusta.
Ever since I went to The Masters in 2011 I've been obsessed with it. No question in my mind that AGNC would be my choice if I had a golden ticket.
My best chances to pull off option 2 would be holes 3, 12, 13 (laying up), 15 (laying up) and 16 with the Sunday pin so I could play the ridge. I'd give my self a solid 25% chance. Getting to play Augusta might be worth those odds.Texmid said:

I'm going to go to Pine Valley one of these days for the Crump Cup. From what I've read you basically get to roam freely around the course. Sounds like a really cool/unique spectating experience.
Not aware of any way to even look around at Cypress. Thus my plan is to just get really rich and important where I have the freedom to do dope s##t all the time.

I've always thought it would be really fun to caddie. Doing the actual job, not the lifestyle.

My impression of "the lifestyle" is that they're like gypsies or carneys without the moving from place to place.
