Anyone familiar with this course? It was only $31 for a Saturday morning tee time, but I have to play early that morning to get the round in, and nothing else in the area was available that early.

It is me and a buddy who hasn't played in a really long time, so not being a five star course is fine. Just wondering if it is a decent track or total waste of money.

Was looking for a place to play in the area in a couple weeks as well. Recent pictures make it look worse than a goat pasture.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. You may look at the club at Rebecca creek if you're looking out that way

I cannot say enough bad things about this course. The facility and course have a ton of potential but the people running it have no clue, no money or both. Mostly mud and rock from tee to "green" calling them greens is generous. The entire course would be ground at repair at any reasonable course. Some "greens" you'd have to putt around ankle height tufts of grass. $31 is $131 too much, because I'd need you to pay me $100 to even think about going back out there. We had the first tee time of the day and they didn't even have the shop open in time to get us on the course in time for our tee time. And the cherry was one of their dip**** employees scolding me for bringing my own beer, which I didn't even do, I bought a 30 dollar six pack and gave them my driver's license for the $5 dollar cooler that functioned and smelled like it had been at the bottom of Canyon Lake. I did somehow manage to shoot 82 which is 4-5 strokes under with my handicap at the time

Yikes. Thanks, everyone. Sounds terrible. Unfortunately I don't think there are any other options. Rebecca Creek is hosting a tournament that day and everywhere else doesnt have tee times until noon or later. We are doing a family vacation weekend so can't eat up the day golfing so have to play early or not at all.

If anyone is a member at River Crossing and wants to get two of us on Saturday morning, that would be appreciated!!!

What about the Bandit or Landa Park?

Depending on where you're staying and how far you're willing to drive, you could also look in to lighthouse in kingsland or Delaware springs in burnet.

Forget everything you've heard and go to Vaaler Creek in Blanco.

From the pictures, I'm pretty pissed at google for not showing Vaaler earlier. One of the closest courses to where we are staying (Spring Branch) and looks great. Unfortunately I'm too late to book anything in the morning but that place would have won.

The other two, Lighthouse and Delaware are too far, but great suggestions. Thanks all, but it looks like we're losing the goat pasture. Nothing else free Saturday morning.

Rebecca Creek is way better than Lakeside.

Actually the best for the buck, since your buddy might be a little slow, try there.

I live in Spring Branch at River Crossing. If you don't like Rebecca Creek, Delaware Springs is a short hour run, Landa Park is 30 min and The Bandit is 40.

Thanks, but every other course mentioned doesn't have anything available early in the morning. And some of the courses are an hour plus drive away. Need to tee off before 830 or nine to make family commitments later today.

Played Lakeside a lot because my FIL has lived in Canyon Lake for years. Good place to practice punch shots off rocks and putting around deer droppings. Otherwise, it's super.

Has anyone played Vaaler or Rebecca Creek recently?

I will be in the area next week and can play Rebecca Creek about 30 minutes away (I've played once before) or Vaaler for about 50 minutes away.

Is Vaaler worth the extra drive and cost?

I am a 16 Handicap currently
