Have a smart TV? Featured groups should be live on ESPN app.

Yeah - I think the way the various sports/leagues are splitting the rights between broadcast moments just further adds to the frustration.

It feels like I cut the cord just to get nickel and dimed by a bunch of different apps.

Side note, it seems like the feed from Masters.com is significantly ahead of the CBS website broadcast.

having a different app for every dam thing is etting to be so *******ed annoying. even though i have an espn+ subscription through disney +, it wont play anything. i liked streaming when it was simple and you didnt need 15 different accounts just to watch something. so frustrating.

I told people to resist cord cutting because of this. Was pretty obvious what would happen. It sucks.

What's ridiculous is the ESPN app (I have both espn+ and a cable login) refused to work yesterday, but the masters app worked flawlessly. Pretty impressive that "the dinosaur" Augusta National has better tech than ESPN.

IBM has kept the Masters website way ahead of the game for a long time. Their online coverage is unparalleled. And the feature where you wan watch any shot just seconds after its struck is amazing.

Colt Knost with the truth bomb. "Since Bryson said that Augusta is a par 67 for himself, he's broken par exactly one time. Don't mess with the golf gods."

On that note, both the IBM and ESPN commercials i saw yesterday seemed to be advertising to a different demographic than I'd expect during masters coverage.

Agree. But at least there aren't that many of them during the broadcast.

Same thing happened with us. I was happy with PSVue, but it wasn't sustainable because of how much money Sony was losing on it. After that is when the apps started accumulating.

I don't do YTTV, but between Hulu/Disney/ESPN/HBOMax/Netflix we have more than enough apps - and I'm not a big TV person.

DirecTV channel 105 and 106 showing Amen Corner and 15/16 starting at 10:30.

The way forward is basically software that aggregates all the programs. Basically, doing what cable did for us years ago. We will then pay extra for this draft and still pay for each app. Anyone with a diverse set of interests (or a family) will pay significantly more than they paid with cable.

Yeah, I've stuck with DirecTV through the years because (1) toggling between apps is a beatdown and (2) sports. Agree that the evolution we are seeing was very predictable. These services come out offering a good deal to build a subscriber base, then they start putting the screws to you on cost or reduction of service. I view what I'm paying a bit like paying people to mow my yard. Could I go to the trouble to do it myself? Sure. But it's a very small dent in the monthly budget for convenience combined with knowing I can watch what I want.

This. I have DirecTV and a half dozen streaming services. Costs a little more but totally worth it to be able to watch what I want when I want.

I agree and still have my cable for same reason. What sucks is still needing an app for some stuff with cable options non existent.

Yeah, we have a few of the other services too, and just the beating of toggling over to netflix or disney+ or whatever was one of the things that convinced me to stick with the simplicity to keep things DTV + supplement when interested. That + sports which looked challenging all along

For me its golf and college football. Thats why PSVue was perfect because it had all the conference channels, ESPNs, etc.

Not to completely take over the masters thread, but another reason why I've kept cable is that a lot of great programming (mad men, breaking bad, justified, etc.) only came about because those channels were able to survive on basic cable for years. If people are only willing to pay for the "good" shows, it will severely impact what "good" shows we'll have in the future because a lot of channels that might produce good programming in the future will go under in the interim. It'll basically be only HBO, Netflix, disney and a couple others that will be left standing.

Watching on The Masters app right now. Better than listening to Golf Channel guys analyze the same things over and over. Getting the Paul Casey and Billy Horschel group and Bryson playing along side Harris English.

Nice to be able to stream the front 9 holes.

The app is crazy good. It's ridiculous that an app that's really only used for 4 days a year is easily the best app on my phone in virtually every respect.

ANGC don't play.

For what it's worth, the feed on paramount+ and the masters app are almost the same for me, as far as time. Paramount is only about 2 seconds behind.
