Golf twitter is blowing up at Gary Player's son hawking golf balls during the opening ceremony. I didn't catch it live, but with all the "rules" Augusta and the Masters has in place, I have to imagine they aren't too happy with Player / his son.

Nah he was standing there the entire time holding a sleeve of balls with the name/emblem out for the camera to see. Even sneaks the sleeve in the frame when Elder is announced.

Pretty subtle as I missed it live but once you look back it was pretty shltty.

He was holding a sleeve of balls in which he has an ownership stake where you could see the brand. I thought it was cheap but also done subtly enough that this is a bit of an overreaction. But I'm sure AGNC will ensure nothing like that is going to happen again LOL

I had no idea until yesterday that Will Zalatoris went to my high school (Trinity Christian Academy-Addison '14). Would like to see him make a run, especially since I took him as a long shot at +8000 (among many others).

No way. You'd voluntarily give up the opportunity to play Augusta National every year? You earned that spot, enjoy it as long as you like. That's one of the coolest traditions about this tournament in my opinion.

Interested to see Augusta vs USGA handling of greens this weekend. US Open is notorious for letting them get away from them in the quest to be firm and fast. I wonder how far Masters will push it.

Augusta National won't let them get away. The sub air system lets them control moisture in the greens to dry them out if they're wet or they will water them if it doesn't end up raining. Too many undulations and crazy breaks to let them bake like the USGA occasionally does.
