Son and I are headed to Phoenix during spring break. We're booked at Quintero, We Ko Pa and Ak Chin Southern Dunes so far. Have one or two other time slots probably. I know I could probably do a search but I'm old and lazy.

Any other suggestions? I've been looking at Whirlwind. They have held the KF Q school and Arizona amateur there.

Went last year and was able to play Troon North Pinnacle course. Was pretty incredible.

Standard additions to your list are Grayhawk and Boulders. I also would check into Legend Trail, which I think is a good track and is usually overlooked in these lists.

MANY threads on Scottsdale/Phx golf. Give it a search.

I'll second Troon North - Pinnacle Course. Pretty memorable. They have golf boards too.

So much great golf out there... think I'll start planning my next trip.

Going at the end of March and playing McCormick Ranch and both Troon Courses. They just had a PGA qualifier at McCormick Ranch. Cheap rate and close to town to play for the day we fly into town.

We Ko Pa. It's fun, hard, and beautiful. It's out away from the city and no houses, hotels, condos, etc on the course.

Oh, and many threads here if you search

We didn't play at Troon because they wanted $450 the weekend of the Phoenix Open last year. Had tee times, but cancelled them after they called back and told us we would have to pay $250 more than what we thought.

Playing Mesa Country Club one day. Probably not on the level with the others mentioned but the membership director told me if we like gambling, drinking and watching sports we'll fit right in.

My group is playing We Ko Pa, Boulders and Eagle Mountain in two weeks. We played Eagle Mountain as a twilight rate two years ago just as a time killer for our first day there and it was a crowd favorite.

Not a difficult course but we used all of our clubs and the scenery was awesome. Here is a picture of us on the 18th as the sun was setting.

ive played alot of golf in phx. the only one i havent seen mentioned is a place called sun ridge canyon. Its by far the best bang for your buck out there.

Just read a few reviews on golf now. Sounds like a few fairways are in rough shape. Greens sound solid though.

Just read a few reviews on golf now. Sounds like a few fairways are in rough shape. Greens sound solid though.
I lived in Scottsdale from '99-01. I played Eagle Mountain once. To this day, the greens there are the slickest greens I've ever played in my life. I can still remember putts not struck properly seeming to roll on forever.
