I know Torrey is a tough course and conditions were pretty bad yesterday. Looks like Cam had an awful Friday.

If my math is right, that's a nice $456k.

Two late birdies by Palmer and some timely mistakes by everyone else turned what looked like a 10th place finish into a much better T2. Nice. That's two top 5's already this year for Palmer.

Moves up to 24th in the OWGR, one spot shy of his career high.

Also moved up to 16th on the Ryder Cup qualification rankings.

I've been eyeing this as well.

Palmer is a great ball striker, makes tons of birdies, and is a very likable guy by all accounts. Sounds exactly what you would want in a team format. Obviously, his struggle is putting, so Foursomes would not be ideal.

Lots of golf to be played until Labor Day, but keep in mind, only the top 6 are automatic, which leaves Stricker 6 captain picks. If Palmer can stay in the top 16, I've got to like his chances...

Just checked, one reason he's managed to have these high finishes is that so far, he's putting better this year. 37th in strokes gained. Last year he was 150th.

Still not a lot of data, but from watching, it seems he has been better inside five feet this year which has saved him some strokes compared to last year.

He started putting with an alignment line on his ball. He said it's made a huge difference.
