Marriage is a funny thing. A woman gets married hoping the man will change and the man gets married hoping the woman won't. Of course when neither scenario occurs it is bound to be a cold bucket of water poured on each perons head. Add outside people giving their opinion and it is like adding gasoline.

I think you should get trashed and blow $500 at a topless bar.

I honestly believe that these football rivalries pale in comparison to the squabbles between men and women. In the final analysis, we're all just a bunch of guys that have to go home to a woman that's ordering us around.

It gives me comfort to think about some poor schlub on the other side of the world that's going through the same thing as me. Makes the world seem like a smaller place.

You should go to Taste of Texas and let Mr. and Mrs. Dub counsel you as you run up his bar tab.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner. How true it is.

That's pretty much what's happened in my marriage also. However, all in all it's been a pretty good deal. I view marriage as a work in progress. 15 years so far.

Whenever the wife and I get into it to the point of loading firearms we end up laughing and telling each other to shut the F up because we cut a deal and nobody's going anywhere.

Nah, I have to pay for it this year.

Of course hopefully Dub will ask my wife the same question he asked last year after his 3rd whiskey neat. He leaned over and asked my wife "what has a thousand teeth and holds back a monster?". Of course he said it with that type of look you see on mug shots of sexual predators. Made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Get her a gym membership for Christmas. Also, some soft porn never hurts anything. Maybe that'll soothe things a bit.

Frank, you need to walk away from this right now.

I'm married. Do I look like a happy guy to you, Frank? There's my wife. Look at her, always watching, judging. LOOK AT THE BABY, LOOK AT THE BABY.

Good job, Frank. It's one vagina for the rest of your life now. Smart move, buddy.

Sorry to hear that you are going through this with your wife. I have learned in 5 years of marriage, if your wife has hot button avoid it at all cost and she has learned the same. I am fortunate that when we got married, that we had the conversation about changing and what not, and I said that I will change over time due to getting older and starting and family, but I was not going to change over night it is long process. I think it is natural that people change as they get older and start having families, but you just can't change yourself over night.

Sorry to hear that.

My wife and I have a couple of things going for us. First, we both try our best to compromise. Second, we're resolved to the fact that neither of us will ever leave, so we better make things right. Going on 6 years now and very few problems.

Some advice:
1. When you're wrong, admit it.
2. When she's wrong, drop it. When she realizes she's wrong, she'll remember how you acted.
3. Stand up for her when it comes to your family.
4. Don't take advice from morons on message boards.

Funny you bring up porn. That is another funny thing about marriage. You see, a man has a very healthy sex life while he is single and the first few months of marriage. However, most women are disgusted by sex and only do it to land their claws in a man. So after they sufficiently sink their claws in you and know you have no way out (mortgage, children, etc.) say good-bye to sex. So what does a guy have left? An affair for the most part is out of the question. It is really too much hassle and would give her WAY too much ammo in a court of law. So unless a guy wants to lead the life of a monk that leaves porn. BUT NO. That is off limits as well.

I swear, if I don't end up addicted to narcotics it would be a miracle.

May I suggest taking up cigars, instead? It's very relaxing. I find that my vices are what sustains me through marriage. Vices has a very broad meaning, btw.

You know, after reading some of the posts above I have to say Vince Vaughn is a VERY underrated actor that in my mind is a comedic genuis. That guy delivered those lines in "Old School" DEAD ON. Also, Swingers could very well be a top 20 movie.

Not exactly true. The truth is men in general let women do what they want because men are generally happy with their lives and want to avoid nagging, b@tching and conflict which intrudes upon and upsets this happy life...it's not because they're omega puzzies.

This is what happens at my house. She becomes incrementally more domineering and I let it slide because my shat is neat and life is good. The camel's nose progresses further into my tent until the whole camel is inside. Finally things get to the point where due to either discomfort, inconvenience or defending my principles I must strap on several hundred pounds of C4 and detonate the whole thing. Then another cycle begins a few weeks later.

This one's not that hard, because very few things upset me (outside the world of sports). However, I had a classic experience of this on Sunday, and I think I came through okay. Here's the story:

PBA sleeps a little bit late and makes us slightly late to church on Sunday morning. Mrs. PBA gives PBA a lecture about the importance of punctuality and so on and so on. Fast forward to that evening...We are supposed to meet people at Sweet Mesquite on Dairy Ashford at 5:30, coming from our apartment in the West U. area. Mrs. PBA arrives back from her shopping trip at 5, making it impossible to make it by 5:30. On top of that, she took the directions out of the car and forgot to bring them back. I brought up the irony of the situation a couple of times, but I avoided coming down on here for it. She felt bad enough, and it may pay off later.
