Unfortunately, I do believe that he is going to have to sit out but I think its dumb to rank a student's hardship and have them go through hardship waivers when coaches are breaking contracts left and right.

So then how does it change with Penn State and Baylor players who were allowed to transfer without sitting out. Not even talking about the upperclassman. They allowed lowerclassman also and even incoming freshman.

life's tough for 5 star athletes that are thrown the red carpet everywhere they go, i suppose.

maybe kids will be able to transfer and play immediately due to the hardship of receiving unwanted pecks on the cheek from their coach in the future... i guess we'll find out in time.

My point is that a judgement of "hardship" is hard to make. If coaches are leaving left and right, why can't kids? It's their future...they aren't making money...let them chase their dreams and what's right for them. No coach is sitting out a year for breaking their contract. What makes Justin Fields "hardship" any more legit than Bru McCoys?

Eh...Whatever. I gave my .02. Have a good day fellas.

For the record, I think Fields should have to sit for a year as well. Regarding McCoy, if he is granted a waiver it will create a complete ****storm. The new thing is early enrollees. It would set the precedent that these kids could start class in January, give it a few weeks to see how things are going, drop their classes if necessary and jump into the portal and do it again somewhere else in the fall.

If there is no fear of having to sit out a year, a "try it before you buy it" culture could become the norm with these 4 and 5 stars.

Has any team rented an OC for a couple of weeks to get a recruit to sign before? Definitely new territory for the NCAA.

They didn't rent a coach to get a player. The world was shocked when Kliff got the offer with Arizona to be their head coach. There's no way USC was expecting this to happen

The question is where do you draw the line? Maybe he was going to USC for KK alone, and if so it's unfortunate that he was sold on a bad bill of goods but, like others have said, coordinators move frequently. What's to stop every single kid from claiming a hardship who has committed to a school that ends up having a coordinator change?

He literally enrolled at USC the same day Kliff took the NFL job and there were rumors of interviews and what not for weeks leading up to that. Why enroll if you aren't 100% confident that your sole reason for committing is going to leave? Short of KK personally petitioning the NCAA with some kind of sworn affidavit that he intentionally lied to the kid that he would stay employed at USC in order to get him enrolled, I think you have to draw the line and enforce the rule as written.

Come one Celee04. You know rules are for other schools. We're Texas.

I don't have have a copy of the NCAA form, but I highly doubt there is language saying you can walk away if a coach leaves. The principle is you are committing to the school, not the coach.

Rivals gives no $#$#s about what you think about their arbitrary ranking rules:

TEXAS
The Horns day didn't feature much action, but they did manage to keep offensive lineman
Javonne Shepherd
away from rival Texas A&M and in doing so keep their conference recruiting title over Oklahoma. Of course, the biggest news for Texas came late last month when five-star athlete
Bru McCoy
transferred from USC and in doing so prior to signing day, was credited towards this school's 2019 class. The decision to count McCoy wasn't popular with opposing fan bases, but now Texas is celebrating its second consecutive Big 12 conference crown.

I have less an issue with them counting McCoy in some arbitrary dick measuring contest and more an issue with them massively skewing their recruit rankings in order to bump tu into the top 10 and then past non-rival A&M. This is supposedly what they do for a living but have demonstrated that they have absolutely no integrity. Anyone that pays them money or wastes time looking at their recruiting evaluations from this point forward really only has themselves to blame. And I think we should keep talking about how ridiculous they.

Tom Herman has inherited the biggest honey hole in America - a two team conference with all the cards stacked in his favor. Yet he still lost to Maryland, twice. He still has yet to beat Oklahoma state. He has 10 losses in 2 years.

What I see is an above average kid who made some decent plays and mostly plays he should make.

The real evaluations are, if he's this good in Plano (a massive and very visible HS football area), why does his offer list suck? You mean to tell me that all the top coaches never heard or saw him? Lol

He could turn out to be a gem but currently he's not elite as it stands in this recruiting cycle.

I have no problem with a kid transferring. If someone is in a bad situation they have every right to get out. But I'm not interested in free agency in college football. The new early signing period is great. I just hope the ncaa doesn't create a monster by allowing kids to use disappearing ink in the early period.

Of course he is wrong. Texas was in the absolute worst shape its program has been in a very very long time. Success was never going to happen overnight and there were always going to be transition/growing pains. From 7 wins and a first bowl win since 2013 to 10 wins, and a Sugar Bowl win in second season.

Texas will rarely win less than 10 games a year from here on out. I told you nerds Texas OL and QB play was going to get much better last year and it was. I told you guys Texas would win 9+ games and they did. I told you Texas was going to get another top 10 recruiting class, and they did. Aggies loved to laugh at all of those. And you were all WRONG.

Next year Texas takes another step forward as a program and in this process of building a legit playoff contender year in and year out. Its happening whether you admit/acknowledge it or not.

Good day gents. Oh, and bookmark this.
