He already explained it. SEC = big time. XII-II = small time.Your Friend said:
Just curious, but what specifically makes games against those teams more enjoyable?

Not sure where he got this, from what I've seen, the majority of Texags folks and Ags I personally know, have no desire whatsoever to resume the game. We never were their "true rival" according to them, they can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned! Let 'em beg.Quote:
Herman's comments will likely be welcomed by those in College Station, many of which have tried to get the rivalry to resume.

These are some fabulous conditions...for us to play them again. In 50 years...from the point that Deloss Dodds keels over.Smithjg said:This should be a good starting point, look it over and get back to us in 50+ years.......
- Once Dodds is dead and buried for 50 years, (this starts the clock, kind of like the last JFK files being released) we will consider the game again.

- Officiating crew (including replay officials) should always be from a neutral conference.
- If one school has a bye week prior to the game, both schools should. Of course 80% of the B12 schedule IS A BYE WEEK, so that really doesn't help much.

There's also the fact that you don't have to worry about the opponent/rival screwing you over on every single detail on and off the field. That's nice not to have to worry about.

Looks like Tom Herman is ready to make this happen.
Play the Damn Game!

Do you really want us to bring up the viewer numbers?Stevetex. said:
I think you guys bring the regional and small time.
Not us.

Little fish don't get to dictate terms. You need the game WAY more than us, therefore the terms are on us to control.Stevetex. said:
No, here's what is going to happen.
Since you lost the last game at Kyle, you will get to lose the renewed rivalry game at DKR.
Ratings say otherwise. As does your incredibly obvious inferiority complex, made transparent by your very presence on this board.Stevetex. said:

What do we have to gain? We already play better teams.Your Friend said:
agent and I were DMing last night. I think the game will resume one way or another, perhaps when the seesaw straightens and neither school will view the game as doing a favor for the other.
Cooler heads will prevail.

Sounds to me like Herman is calling you guys out.
The perception of Texas is already changing.
That didn't seem to matter too much to DeLoss Dodds, did it?Quote:
And it's a 100 year rivalry with a rich history and legendary moments, what's not to gain?
Calling us out? Remind me again - who left the date open, and who refused to play?Stevetex. said:
