Gang rape as bonding. Interesting.
Unfortunately, the NCAA is more concerned about bathroom bills then they are about women's safety.JM13 said:
How has the NCAA done nothing about this? I really don't understand it

From the story in the Waco TribQuote:
According to the suit, the football team had a system of hazing freshman recruits by having them bring freshman females to parties to be drugged and gang raped, "or in the words of the football players, 'trains' would be run on the girls."
Considered a bonding experience by the players, according to the suit, the rapes were also photographed and videotaped, and the plaintiff confirmed that at least one 21-second videotape of two Baylor students being gang raped by football players had circulated.

I agree. And, how can administrators and educators of a university tolerate an athletic program like that? Why isn't the university screaming for a self-imposed ban of athletics?

They do have a stadium to pay for, you know.
At this point I'm not sure they're defending CAB as much as they're defending the only small window of semi-relevance they've known in their lifetimes. Bad enough they grossly overpaid for what they got educationally. They need something to hold onto. "Hey guys, remember when we were actually good enough to have this happen to us in a bowl game an hour and a half up the road?"BohunkAg said:
The dog fighting is a new thing right? As is the video taping of said gang rape. How is this sh-t still defendable to some of them? I'd be like "f-ck Briles, get that b-stard as far away from us as we can....go Rhule"
But no, some of these jabronis STILL feel the need to defend that scumbag.

Uhh, because you recruited them, because you hid their crimes, because you did not remove them from the team.BESCo91 said:

Baylor gets the death penalty or major scholarship limits and it's the death of the Big 12.
(1) No way in hell that happens .... not even a remote possibility.AlaskanAg99 said:

There's no way an actual human being said that... That school must seriously attract sociopaths.
Doesn't tu have a lawyer on retainer who charges the players $1 for his services?TXAGBQ76 said:
Wasn't there something a month or so ago that said Artie and/or boo hoo sue u may have paid for legal counsel for the boys accused? If true and proven, that is another angle the NCAA can use- illegal benefits to a "student" athlete...
Where has little ole bs bear been during all of this? He sure has been Inn hiding since all of this broke.

Unfortunately I live in McLennan County. They are already jacking up property taxes, among other things, to try to soak the residents to cover for all the costs of all this nonsense.ABATTBQ11 said:petey88 said:

The Duke lacrosse story comes to mind. Maybe people want to be absolutely sure before they go releasing names?Giggy Smalls said:SlackerAg said:

Is there an attorney on here familiar with Title IX civil cases that can comment on why the players' names would not be listed? I understand listing BU as the defendant so that you can receive the most amount of financial compensation for the immense pain and suffering. They need to have the school on the hook so they can hurt them financially.
But why not put the players' names in the body of the suit filing? She said she knew them. I'm guessing it has to be for some legal reason but I don't understand. These players need to be known. I would think maybe even criminal charges could be brought against them too. We're talking sexual assault here so they need to be in jail.
